Help deliver the future of Europe’s largest fitness chain

At Basic-Fit, our International Construction Department is responsible for delivering high-quality fitness clubs across all Basic-Fit markets in Europe. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to how new clubs are built and improved.

This is what your role looks like

As an Architectural Engineer (Execution and Aftercare), you’ll play a key role in turning our concepts into reality. You’ll ensure that every club is delivered according to the highest quality standards while supporting contractors, solving technical challenges, and continuously improving the way we build.

This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to construction, takes ownership, and wants to make a visible impact on projects across Europe.

As part of the Execution and Aftercare team, you’ll be responsible for the technical coordination and quality of projects during construction and project completion. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure our clubs are delivered safely, efficiently, and according to the Basic-Fit standard.

Beyond project delivery, you’ll use the experience gained on site to improve future construction methods, technical standards, and execution processes across all Basic-Fit markets in Europe.

Your responsibilities

Construction & Project Delivery

  • Coordinate the technical execution of new clubs, rebuilds, and refurbishment projects across Europe.
  • Review technical drawings before construction starts and identify potential risks or improvements.
  • Review and monitor construction schedules and ensure project milestones are integrated efficiently.
  • Act as the technical point of contact for contractors, suppliers, and external consultants throughout the construction process.
  • Monitor construction quality and ensure compliance with Basic-Fit standards, local regulations, and technical specifications.
  • Visit construction sites regularly to perform technical inspections and monitor project progress.
  • Support Project Managers by resolving technical challenges quickly and effectively.
  • Coordinate technical changes during construction while balancing quality, planning, and budget.
  • Ensure projects are delivered with complete and accurate as-built documentation.

Quality & Aftercare

  • Lead technical inspections during project handover.
  • Identify defects and coordinate corrective actions with contractors.
  • Monitor the completion of outstanding works after opening.
  • Analyze recurring construction issues and translate lessons learned into improved standards.
  • Support the continuous improvement of technical details, construction methods, and execution processes.
  • Work closely with the Preparation and Development team to improve future club designs based on practical construction experience.

Continuous Improvement

  • Help further standardize construction quality across all Basic-Fit markets in Europe.
  • Contribute to improving construction workflows and digital processes.
  • Collaborate with BIM Engineers to improve technical documentation and project coordination.
  • Share best practices and technical knowledge with colleagues across Europe.
  • Identify opportunities to improve buildability, efficiency, sustainability, and quality.

What success looks like

During your first year, you will:

  • Successfully support the delivery of multiple construction projects across Europe.
  • Build strong relationships with contractors and suppliers.
  • Become a trusted technical advisor for Project Managers and the wider Construction team.
  • Improve construction quality through practical technical solutions.
  • Help strengthen Basic-Fit’s construction standards by turning project experience into continuous improvements.

Who are you?

You’re a hands-on engineer who enjoys being close to construction. You combine technical knowledge with practical problem-solving and know how to keep projects moving without compromising quality.

You communicate easily with contractors, consultants, and colleagues and remain calm when priorities change. You enjoy travelling, visiting projects, and seeing your work come to life.

Qualifications & Skills

  • A bachelor’s degree in architecture, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Approximately 3–5 years of experience within construction, engineering, or project execution.
  • Experience coordinating construction projects and working with contractors.
  • Strong understanding of technical drawings and construction detailing.
  • Knowledge of construction quality, site coordination, and project delivery.
  • Experience with BIM, Revit, or digital construction tools is an advantage.
  • Experience with permitting processes and regulatory requirements will be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills in English. Dutch or another European language is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and capable of navigating day-to-day challenges with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across all Basic-Fit markets in Europe.

What we offer you

No two days are the same. One day you’ll be visiting a project in Belgium, the next you’ll be helping solve a technical challenge in Spain or supporting the delivery of a new club in France.

You’ll work with an international team that values ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement while helping deliver clubs that millions of members enjoy every year.

Your work has a direct and visible impact not only on individual projects, but on how Basic-Fit builds clubs across Europe.
