This is what your role looks like

As a Behavioural Marketing Specialist, you'll be the strategic backbone behind our member communication. You'll work closely with our CRM & Content Marketeers, who create the journeys and content, our Data Analyst, and our Marketing Cloud Specialist to make sure our messaging is rooted in behavioural science, not just gut feeling.

Your core question every day: why would a member respond to this, and what does that mean for what we say, when we say it, and how?

We communicate with over 5 million members across 6 countries through email and our app. There's a wealth of data available, and a team that's eager to use it more intelligently. You'll have real ownership and room to grow fast.

Your responsibilities

As a Behavioural Marketing Specialist, you'll shape how we communicate with millions of members — from the psychology behind a journey to the timing and framing of every message. Concretely, this means:

  • Translate psychology into strategy: turn principles like habit formation, motivation, loss aversion, and identity reinforcement into concrete CRM strategies and journey concepts.
  • Advise on the why: help CRM & Content Marketeers choose the right triggers, timing, and framing to drive member behaviour.
  • Define what matters: work with the Data Analyst to identify meaningful segments and behavioural signals, and evaluate journey results.
  • Build in the logic: collaborate with the Marketing Cloud Specialist to embed the right behavioural logic into automations and triggers.
  • Stay sharp: follow research in behavioural science, gamification, and retention marketing, and bring it back to the team.
  • Test and learn: help design and evaluate experiments, turning learnings into improvements.
  • Shape motivation: contribute to our rewards and recognition system, building intrinsic motivation rather than dependency.

Who are you?

You're someone who sits comfortably at the intersection of psychology and data. You understand human behaviour, but you want evidence for it.

Additionally, we're looking for someone who has:

  • A background in behavioural psychology, (health) communication, cognitive science, or a related field.
  • Affinity with data: you're comfortable working with insights and don't need to be shielded from numbers.
  • A genuine interest in fitness, habit formation, or member retention — you understand the emotional journey of a gym member.
  • Strong communication skills — you can translate complex behavioural concepts into clear recommendations for marketers, developers, and stakeholders.
  • A curious, hands-on mindset. This is a new role, which means you'll help define it.
  • Experience with CRM tools, marketing automation, or A/B testing is a plus, but not a requirement — we'll teach you what you need.
