As an (Associate) Scientist Analytical Chemistry, you will work within the Large Molecule Analytical Sciences (LMAS) group. You will be part of a service-focused team that supports analytical work for large molecules in a pharmaceutical setting.

In this role, you will work with techniques such as HPLC, LC-MS, CZE and icIEF. A large part of the work is focused on keeping analytical methods reliable, solving technical issues and making sure experiments can continue without avoidable delays.

Responsibilities

  • Resolving technical issues with analytical techniques such as HPLC, LC-MS, CZE and icIEF. You help identify what went wrong, prevent recurring problems and reduce downtime.
  • Working on method development and optimization. This can include improving existing SOPs or developing and validating new analytical methods.
  • Documenting, analyzing and reporting experimental data. You make sure results are traceable and recorded correctly in validated GMP software systems.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert for analytical methods within your area of expertise.
  • Coordinating maintenance and calibration for multiple HPLC systems and an LC-MS system. You make sure the equipment remains reliable and ready for testing activities.
  • Performing routine analyses with HPLC, LC-MS, CZE and icIEF when needed to support quality testing workflows.
  • Taking on additional analytical or documentation-related activities when required by the team.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in analytical chemistry or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience with chromatography, for example HPLC, LC-MS or GC.
  • At least 1 year of experience with method development, method validation and/or method transfer.
  • Able to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fluent English communication skills are required. Dutch is nice to have.
