About the Role

You will design and deliver machine learning and AI systems that help unlock insights from complex scientific data and content. Working with diverse datasets and modern AI techniques, you will create solutions that enable faster discovery, better decision-making, and meaningful impact across research and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build machine learning, NLP, and generative AI systems for scientific discovery, knowledge extraction, and intelligent content understanding
  • Work with large-scale datasets including scientific publications, research data, knowledge graphs, and metadata
  • Apply a range of approaches from classical ML methods to deep learning, embeddings, and LLM-based solutions
  • Develop capabilities such as semantic search, information retrieval, entity extraction, classification, and summarization
  • Build, evaluate, and improve models that support decision-making and accelerate research outcomes
  • Train, fine-tune, prompt, and integrate models into production-ready systems
  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines for experimentation, inference, and monitoring
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex challenges into robust technical solutions

Requirements

  • Background in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, NLP, statistics, applied mathematics, computer science, or a related field
  • Strong Python skills with a focus on clean, maintainable, well-tested code
  • Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including model evaluation and performance measurement
  • Experience working with structured, semi-structured, or unstructured data, especially large-scale text datasets
  • Familiarity with tools such as Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Matplotlib
  • Ability to translate complex problems into practical, data-driven solutions
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to quality
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with diverse stakeholders
