Join Rabobank as a Junior Azure Data Engineer at the Information Factory Payments & Savings (IFP) and help transform payments and savings data into valuable insights.

IFP is a key data warehouse that processes vast amounts of payments and savings data daily, transforming them into valuable information products. The team supports business partners with insights and overviews of their products and processes, and handles external reporting to regulators and other organizations.

You and your job

  • Assist in developing and implementing new functionalities in the Information Factory Payments & Savings.
  • Contribute to ETL processes to fetch and model data, integrate it into the data warehouse, and prepare it for reporting or usable data products.
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers and other teams to deliver data solutions according to standards.

As a Junior Azure Data Engineer, you will mainly work on the back-end side and learn how to transform raw data into usable information. You will receive guidance from experienced colleagues and gradually build your knowledge.

Practical examples

  • Dashboards for product managers to support product development and entering new markets.
  • Report functionality and operational datasets used in daily banking to serve customers.
  • Regulatory reporting to the Dutch National Bank and the Dutch tax authority.

Top 3 responsibilities

  1. Support in developing and implementing new functionalities.
  2. Contribute to ETL processes and data integration into the data warehouse.
  3. Learn about data governance, security, and performance optimization.

You will work Agile Scrum based, in a squad together with Business Analysts, fellow Data DevOps engineers and a Product Owner. You will learn and stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to enhance data engineering practices.

You and your talent

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in IT, data, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in data engineering or a similar role; internship experience is welcome.
  • Eager to learn, proactive, and motivated to develop yourself.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Databricks, Azure and cloud technologies.
  • Experience with PowerBI is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of and/or experience with SQL, DBT and Python.
  • Knowledge and experience with ETL and data modelling, preferably dimensional modelling, is a big plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

If you do not meet all the requirements but firmly believe that you can make a valuable contribution, do not hesitate to send us your motivation.

We are very curious about what you can bring to the team at IFP. Working together is the way we work; as 1 data-minded team at Rabobank.

“Being part of our team means helping Rabobank unlock the full potential of their Payments and Savings data. Collaborating actively with your business stakeholders and team members within a dynamic, social and warm environment. Your skills as a Data Engineer are indispensable to me!”

Armando Bocken, Business Analyst

Your development as a young professional

Within this programme, you will have the opportunity to get to know yourself, the field of data engineering and Rabobank. The programme lasts 18 months.

You will start in a junior position within one team, take part in workshops and training modules with other young professionals and quickly gain practical experience. Together with others, there is room for creativity and initiative to organise events, training sessions and knowledge-sharing sessions. This helps improve the programme and yourselves. You will also build a valuable network within Rabobank.

The programme itself starts on 1 October. For this role, the preferred start date is 1 September, so you have time to settle into the team before the programme begins.
