At Lely, we develop robotic solutions that help dairy farmers around the world operate more sustainably and efficiently. Behind every innovation lies an important question: does the system perform exactly as intended? As a Mechatronics Verification Engineer, you help us answer that question.

You work at the intersection of software, electronics, and mechanical engineering, with the opportunity to truly understand complex systems. You investigate how products behave, design smart verification methods, and use data to draw well-founded conclusions. In doing so, you play an important role in developing reliable products that continue to perform under a wide range of real-world conditions.

In this role, the emphasis is on designing verification strategies, developing test methods, setting up experiments, and analyzing results. You help determine the best way to validate new products and translate your findings into practical recommendations for our development teams.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Designing verification strategies, test methods, and test setups for new mechatronic systems.
  • Translating system and product requirements into effective and repeatable verification scenarios.
  • Analyzing test results and measurement data, and translating your findings into clear conclusions and improvement recommendations.
  • Collaborating with software, electronics, and mechanical engineers to better understand complex systems and continuously improve them.
  • Advising development teams on product quality, system behavior, and the readiness of new developments for release.
  • Performing verification testing both on our Campus and at test locations to validate products under real-life operating conditions.

What is your experience?

You are naturally curious and enjoy understanding complex technical systems. You like asking questions, investigating the root cause of technical challenges, and combining theory with hands-on experimentation. Designing experiments, analyzing data, and translating technical insights into clear recommendations is what motivates you.

You also enjoy working closely with colleagues from different engineering disciplines. You don't need to be a specialist in every area, but you are excited by the opportunity to connect software, electronics, and mechanics to understand how complete systems work.

In addition, you recognize yourself in most of the following:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.
  • Experience in a technical or mechatronics environment. Several years of experience is an advantage, but we mainly value your technical foundation, curiosity, and potential to grow.
  • An interest in working at the intersection of software, electronics, and mechanics, with the ambition to understand complete systems.
  • Experience designing experiments, analyzing test results, and translating data into well-supported technical recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English, enabling you to share insights effectively with colleagues from different disciplines.
  • A valid driver's license (Category B), allowing you to visit test locations or customers when required. Experience with Python, LabVIEW, Real-Time Linux, microcontrollers, or FMEA is considered an advantage but is not required.

Don't meet every requirement but excited about the role? We'd still love to hear from you. We're particularly interested in your curiosity, technical mindset, and motivation to help develop reliable robotic systems for the future of dairy farming.

What you can expect from us
