Working Student opportunity in Payroll and Finance Operations

In a nutshell

Ever thought about how a hyper-growth scale-up connects its money to its people? Joining our Payroll team is your backstage pass to the exact intersection of finance and human operations. As a working student, you’ll jump right into the engine room of our Finance team. This is the ultimate first step to seeing how a massive operational machine works from the inside out. You’ll handle the critical data, like salaries and contracts, that directly impacts every single colleague at Picnic. If you want real responsibility, an eye for detail, and a front-row seat to how finance keeps our people moving, let's talk!

Tricks of the trade

  • You'll be the key contact for external parties like national authorities, while helping Picnic colleagues across the business with their payroll questions.
  • From processing expense reimbursements and supporting 30% ruling applications to managing NS business cards, you ensure these tasks are handled accurately and efficiently.
  • You'll work within HR/Payroll systems (like Workday) to manage sensitive personal and salary information. Keeping things organized and GDPR-compliant is second nature to you.
  • Support the wider Finance Operations team with dynamic projects, adapt to shifting priorities, and pick up new tasks and payroll terminology quickly.

Your superpowers

  • You are at least in the 2nd year of your HBO or WO Bachelor’s degree (think Business, Economics, HR, or a related field).
  • Available to work 2 days per week for at least 1 year.
  • Fluent in both Dutch and English (you'll need both daily).
  • You handle confidential info with total professionalism and have a natural instinct to double-check your work before hitting send.
  • You’re a confident communicator who can prioritize tasks when things get busy.
  • Any previous experience in customer service, admin, accounting, or finance is a plus.
