About FlexGrid-HV

FlexGrid-HV is DNV's specialized global venture focused on providing strategic advisory, engineering and assurance services in High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) and Flexible Alternating Current Transmission Systems (FACTS). These technologies are pivotal for integrating renewable energy, enhancing grid stability, and ensuring efficient long-distance power transmission, essential for achieving a sustainable energy future.

You will join the innovative FlexGrid HV venture, dedicated to scaling up HVDC and FACTS technologies globally. The team works with diverse clients—utilities, system operators, developers, investors, government agencies, EPCs, and OEMs—offering services that range from Technical Advisory and Owner’s Engineering to Independent Engineering and Strategic advisory. Your leadership and expertise will directly contribute to shaping the future of high-voltage electricity transmission.

What we offer

As a new joiner to the FlexGrid venture, you will collaborate with skilled, passionate colleagues in a dynamic, international setting. Each day brings exciting challenges and opportunities to work with diverse topics, projects and clients. You will have flexibility to shape your role and make a real impact in the team and on the business.

  • Hybrid working model, 3 days office – 2 days home office.
  • Opportunities for personal growth: based on your experience, a plan will be created together with you for your personal development for the next years through the 70-20-10 philosophy: 70% learning on the job, 20% coaching and 10% training.
  • You will be given the opportunity to grow into a people leadership or a commercial leading role where you sell, lead and execute projects to help customers succeed and promote an equitable energy transition.

About you

Are you passionate about FACTS (and HVDC) technology, the role it plays in advancing the energy transition and about Sales, BD, leading growth globally?

Join DNV as Sales & Technology Lead FACTS and play a key part in building the FACTS consultancy business, developing cutting-edge FACTS transmission solutions that enhance affordability, sustainability, and reliability in electricity networks worldwide.

As Sales & Technology Lead for FACTS, you will be responsible for growing DNV’s FACTS consultancy business globally. You will interact closely with customers, work closely with Key Account Managers and Regional Business Managers, and achieve order intake and revenue. You will also be responsible for FACTS thought leadership, FACTS proposition development and positioning, as well as optimizing the competence level and capacity of the FACTS consultants within DNV. You will safeguard the technical quality of offers as well as the delivery of services, working closely together with Bid- and Project Managers and the team of FACTS consultants. You will present at conferences and represent DNV towards major technology institutes such as IEEE, IEC, and CIGRE. You will report to the Head of FlexGrid HV and be part of the global management team.

We are looking for a collaborative professional who’s excited to contribute expertise in FACTS, market understanding, stakeholder network, business development, sales, and managerial experience and competences. If you’re passionate about sales, business development and delivering innovative solutions, thrive in diverse teams, and enjoy making a real impact, this role is for you.

Additionally, we are looking for:

  • A university degree, preferably a master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field, and preferably 5 or more years of experience in FACTS business development, sales and projects.
  • Solid technical knowledge of FACTS integration studies, software tools, and regulatory standards.
  • A curious and solution-focused mindset, using your expertise to create innovative ideas and drive opportunities.
  • The ability to thrive in dynamic, diverse, and collaborative international and multi-cultural environments.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to simplify complex concepts, along with openness to traveling some 20% of the time to connect with clients, attend conferences, visit project sites and meet with colleagues.

  • Hybrid working.
  • A purpose-led organization with the opportunity to tackle global change through your work.
