At Stryker, we are looking for a talented, highly motivated sales leader who will be responsible for driving the Extremities business in the Northern Europe region (Benelux & Nordics).

Reporting to the Senior Business Unit Director of Trauma & Extremities, you will be part of a high calibre, achievement-driven sales team who shares a strong belief in helping our customers to improve patient care through the use of our products. You will lead your team with full accountability for sales performance, turnover and cost control, ensuring excellent customer service while driving new customer growth.

The Job’s Mission:

Stryker’s innovative Extremities business offers market-leading implants for the treatment of bone fractures.

What you will do:

  • Start with a familiarization phase to learn about the portfolio and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a team of direct and indirect reports, coaching them to achieve their full potential and promoting an environment that fosters engagement and individual growth.
  • Act as a developer of people, creating a future pipeline of talent for Stryker.
  • Support and drive your team strategically and tactically to accelerate business through the Extremities portfolio.
  • Manage P&L responsibility of the business unit.
  • Develop and execute the annual marketing plan of the business unit.
  • Meet or exceed the annual sales revenue target as defined in the division budget.
  • Run a profitable business, ensuring Regional Sales Managers and Sales teams meet margin expectations through appropriate pricing policy and alignment with revenue targets and annual budget expectations.
  • Meet and exceed target for operating income.
  • Work closely with regional leadership to set and execute the franchise strategy with emphasis on providing differentiation that grows Stryker’s market share.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts rolled up into Europe.
  • Manage key customer relationships, retaining and growing the business.
  • Understand the value drivers of the business and identify profitable commercial opportunities to grow revenue and market share.
  • Collaborate with other Business Unit Managers within the business unit and with Regional and National Sales Managers in other franchises to provide innovative customer offerings and support cross-divisional work.
  • Closely support and collaborate with enabling functions to ensure policies, procedures, and a smooth order-to-cash process are maintained so customers receive the highest levels of service.

What you need:

Required:

  • Degree or equivalent.
  • 10+ years overall commercial experience, including solid experience in industries such as MedTech, Biotech, Pharma or related.
  • A background in commercial leadership positions such as Division/Business Unit Leader, Regional Sales Manager, National Sales Manager or related.
  • Experience within direct sales is required.
  • Experience in delivering market share growth and financial commitments.
  • Experience in building and executing on a marketing budget and plan.
  • Demonstrated success in building, managing, motivating, and developing strong commercial teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to build engagement and leverage performance management systems to reach business objectives, including goal setting, performance planning, coaching, feedback and performance reviews.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including a demonstrated record of achieving organizational goals such as sales quota, growth quota, sales, P&L, and engagement.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build relationships, with excellent collaboration, cross-functional influencing skills, and teamwork.
  • Hands-on approach, with a can-do attitude; you thrive in fast-paced environments.
  • Flexibility to travel in the region, as this position involves customer interactions and sales support in the field.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).

Preferred:

  • Orthopaedics/anatomy knowledge is not mandatory, but would be an advantage.
