Within Allseas at Delft, Capital Projects is the department to successfully execute large or complex internal investment projects in the offshore industry. We now have a great opportunity for a Construction Manager to join our team of project- and construction managers in a variety of projects.

Your role

The Construction Manager oversees construction projects or represents Allseas at construction sites, serving as the main point of contact for employees, contractors, and subcontractors for all construction and commissioning activities related to the work. You ensure the timely delivery of engineering, fabrication, and procurement necessary for integration or installation on Allseas' vessels or projects. With a strong understanding of engineering, materials, welding, and constructability, you can suggest design improvements and anticipate potential problems before they arise. We are currently looking for a construction manager with strong project management skills to manage a project with both equipment developments as well as related vessel conversions.

  • Ensure expenditure approval or investment proposal in in place, containing a budget, resources CTRs, a schedule and the project execution plan;
  • Maintain a healthy relationship with all suppliers and act as the primary contact for suppliers and authorities;
  • Establish a multi-discipline, fit for purpose project organisation in co-operation with discipline leads;
  • Co-ordinate all project activities (including those related to subcontracts) in order to achieve the best performance of the entire organisation;
  • Ensure safe performance by creative and fit for purpose designs and work methods, knowing the work and risks and by demonstrating safety leadership;
  • Manage cost, discipline man-hours and vessel day budgets and adequately forecast until end of project and ensure the forecast remains current;
  • Identify and review/approve variation order requests, variation orders, and other changes to the contract and subcontracts;
  • Coaching and knowledge sharing: Coach and mentor (Assistant) Project Managers, Construction Managers under supervision or as appointed.

What we expect from you

The candidate we are looking for has a hands-on attitude, is a good communicator, able to build and develop relationships with (internal)clients and other (external) parties and a proactive professional who thrives by getting things done within multi-disciplinary teams. You are self-motivated, with a proven track record of commercial success. You are not afraid to make decisions or force decisions to be made.

Besides this, you have:

  • BSc or MSc degree in Aerospace, Civil, Maritime, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
  • Minimum 10 years' construction management experience, preferably in the offshore industry;
  • Extensive experience working in multi-disciplinary teams;
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken;
  • Excellent contractual, negotiation and people management skills;
  • Good risk management and awareness skills.
