Administrative Support Officer

Samen met een geweldig team

Do you want to work together with inspired colleagues to create a world in which nature and people thrive? And help build a ‘nature positive’ impact in biodiverse priority landscapes around the world by mobilising people to act? That is what you will do when you work at WWF Netherlands (WWF-NL).

WWF-NL is a professional and dynamic organization with an informal working culture based in Zeist, the Netherlands. The organisation consists of four departments: Conservation, Engagement, Organization & Talent Development and Finance & Operations. In this light WWF-NL is looking for an Administrative Support Officer (16 hours per week).

This role will be part of WWF-NL's Netherlands team and will focus on providing day-to-day administrative support to a project that aims to improve the climate resilience of Limburg and the surrounding provinces in Belgium and Germany.

The SPONGE project is a partnership between 9 organisations from Belgium and the Netherlands aiming to enhance climate resilience and restore the natural sponge function of the Meuse-Rhine Euroregion landscape by fostering upstream-downstream solidarity and cooperation. The project will implement Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) and Naturally Designed Technical Solutions (NDTS) and work with public institutions to develop an integrated governance approach in the Euroregion to ensure cooperation and avoid conflicts. WWF-NL’s role in the project is as project lead and manager of a small grants (voucher) system for organisations in the Euroregion that want to implement NBS.

The Administrative Support Officer will work closely with the SPONGE Project Lead to carry out the day-to-day administration of the project. You will be in charge of:

  • Providing administrative and logistical support to the project.
  • Assisting in the coordination of project activities, meetings, and events.
  • Supporting communication with project partners and stakeholders in the three countries where the project works.
  • Supporting financial administration.
  • Supporting the monitoring of project progress and assisting in the preparation of donor reports and documentation.
  • Helping ensure compliance with Interreg and EU funding regulations.
  • Maintaining and updating project databases and document repositories.
  • Contributing to the dissemination of project results through newsletters, social media, and events.

  • Love for details and structure to complement generalist colleagues!
  • Experience in administration project support, preferably in an EU-funded or cross-border context.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch.
  • Interest and commitment to protecting nature.
  • Strong organisational, financial and administrative skills.
  • Understanding of donor-funded programmes and their requirements.

Desirable

  • Fluency in French.
  • Familiarity with Interreg or other EU funding programmes.
  • Knowledge of nature-based solutions or climate adaptation projects.
  • Willingness to travel within the programme area.
  • Experience working with public authorities or NGOs in the Netherlands, Belgium or Germany.
