Responsible for the management of the weekly MPS in order to balance demand and supply within available capacity and set inventory targets. You will orchestrate the cross-functional MPS activities following the GKN Aerospace standard. Depending on site size, you will own or support the monthly Operations Supply Planning (IBP) activities. For this role, GKN Aerospace is looking for a supply chain specialist with technical skills and programming tools experience for a high-demand, data-driven role focused on optimizing logistics, inventory, and forecasting through automation and advanced analytics.

Job Responsibilities

  • Orchestrate Scheduling (MPS) activities beyond the current week time horizon and for the whole MPS horizon.
  • Create and maintain schedules to deliver in line with programme requirements while maintaining inventory targets and optimizing site capacity.
  • Schedule production for specified products and production lines, understanding all physical and manning constraints.
  • Ensure that MPS is feasible and balanced against resource and demonstrated capacity.
  • Ensure that MPS includes all phase-in/out, localization and transfer plans, as well as new programme development and prototyping.
  • Ensure that MPS is based on the agreed working calendar and includes all planned downtime, such as holidays, routine maintenance, and line closures.
  • Ensure that MPS is in line with supplier and subcontractor available capacity.
  • Reschedule production past dues weekly.
  • Provide input for Material Requirement Planning and Vendor Scheduling processes.
  • Proactively communicate and escalate potential MPS issues or constraints to the management team to trigger preventive actions and mitigate supply failure risk.
  • Support operations in monitoring manufacturing output and performance against the schedule and plan, challenging and understanding whenever performance differs from standard.
  • Support Programme Management in analysing inventory levels to optimize and challenge current status and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Provide communication and feedback to Programmes in case of potential supply issues and to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Liaise with Programmes to support and coordinate all production schedules related to new programme launch and prototyping activities.
  • Ensure relevant KPIs are monitored and that the PDCA approach is applied with A3 in case of deviation to ensure targets are delivered in a sustainable way, such as Master Schedule Adherence, Customer Past Dues, and Days Inventory Outstanding.
  • Depending on site size, perform these activities at Operations Supply Planning level across a 36-month horizon.
  • Support continuous improvement projects and activities.
  • Support Operations in the analysis of Master Schedule Adherence.
  • Ensure system master data is up to date for all planning and scheduling purposes.

Job Qualifications

  • HBO/WO degree in supply chain, logistics, and/or industrial engineering.
  • Expertise in forecasting and supply planning, operations supply planning (IBP), MPS, MRP, daily scheduling and execution, and data management.
  • Good understanding of programming tools, for example Python or SQL.
  • Excellent social and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Proactive and problem-solving attitude.
  • Good communication skills in English and Dutch.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Excel and knowledge of BAAN or other ERP systems.
