At ABN AMRO, we offer a fully digital banking experience while strengthening personal contact with our clients. We are there for them during key moments in their lives.

We are looking for a Business Developer with a strong affinity for data to join our Credit Data Integration & Distribution team within Financing Solutions (FS). In this role, you will work at the crossroads of data, business and IT—transforming complex credit data into actionable insights that drive better lending decisions. Beyond analysis and modelling, you will act as a key partner to stakeholders across the organization, helping them understand, use, and benefit from data while shaping how we deliver and improve credit solutions for our clients end-to-end.

As part of this interdisciplinary team consisting of both business developers and engineers, you will focus on how credit data is sourced, integrated, and shared across the organization. In the Credit Data Grid department, you will combine business understanding with technical skills to make our data useful and easy to use. You will help turn complex data into practical solutions, supporting colleagues, and helping the bank make better and faster credit decisions.

Your job

As a Business Developer who is experienced with data analysis and data modelling, you will be a vital link between business requirements and technical solutions. You will focus on taking ownership of incoming projects, translating product and process improvements into impactful value data solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in bank wide change projects where credit data plays a key role. Examples include redefining the definition of default (DoD), enabling significant risk transfers (SRT), and developing early warning models (EWM) to help release capital and improve the overall lending journey as part of NextGen Lending.
  • Collaborating with business stakeholders to gather clear credit data requirements and translate them into tangible data deliveries and improvements.
  • Performing analyses to gather and validate credit data requirements, assessing data attributes needed by consumers, identifying gaps, and supporting the continuous improvement of the CDDS team and platform, for example by helping to develop new tooling for data modelling and optimize transformation logic and storage.
  • Partnering with architects to design smart, scalable data solutions that drive business value, while continuously improving the Credits Domain Data Model (CBDM) to ensure high-quality data, clear flows, and strong support for lending decisions and regulatory compliance.
  • Taking end-to-end ownership of data development projects including testing and release management, collaborating with data engineers and consumers to implement data solutions.
  • Collaborating with our Analytics & AI team to create impactful data solutions on top of the CDDS.
  • Proactively identifying improvements by asking questions, challenging the status quo, and helping enhance our processes.

By contributing to these activities, you will play a critical role in the end-to-end lifecycle of credit data products, enabling seamless integration, distribution, and maintenance across the credit domain.

Working environment

The Credit Data Grid department plays a central role in enabling the users of corporate credit information across the bank, including subsidiaries and international branches. This improves customer experience, ensures regulatory compliance, and supports the bank's broader strategy.

As part of the Credit Data Integration & Distribution team, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of the Credits Data Domain Store (CDDS)—a key application in the credit domain at ABN AMRO. The CDDS team integrates numerous data sources to deliver high-quality credit data products that empower internal stakeholders to make informed decisions and enable (Gen) AI & Analytics solutions. This work ensures seamless data flows and integration within the credit domain through a unified data model and a reliable, fast, and secure mechanism.

We are a dynamic and diverse team, bringing together both experienced professionals and fresh perspectives. We believe in learning by doing, challenging each other, and continuously improving — while also keeping things enjoyable. From hackathons and knowledge-sharing sessions to team events like Banking for Better days and potluck lunches, we make space for both growth and fun.

Our culture actively supports your development: you are encouraged to take initiative, learn new skills, and grow within your role. With an international team and English as our working language, we collaborate in a hybrid setup, spending at least two days per week together at our headquarters in Amsterdam. Additionally, we are embarking on exciting new data governance initiatives, aiming for industry-leading standards in data quality, consistency, and standardization. As part of the team, you will have a unique opportunity to play a central role in driving these efforts, making a real impact on the bank’s strategic goals.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic and data-driven environment. You are analytical, detail & solution-oriented and an excellent communicator who can navigate a complex stakeholder field with ease.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Experience in business and data analysis, ideally within banking or the credit data domain — or a strong motivation to grow into this space.
  • Ability to assess and validate data attributes required by consumers and identify gaps in existing data.
  • A collaborative mindset, enjoying working with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to shape solutions that make a real impact.
  • A strong sense of ownership — you like to take responsibility, drive outcomes, and deliver end-to-end results.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and a solid understanding of data modelling (conceptual, logical, physical).
  • General understanding of IT topics, such as release management, testing, and tools like Databricks.
  • Experience or familiarity with knowledge of JSON for managing and creating data mappings (preferred).
  • Ability to adjust mappings, create build plans, and perform corrective maintenance on data products.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to manage different stakeholders including higher management, credit data consumers and engineering teams.
  • Analytical mindset and attention to detail, able to identify relationships between requirements, processes, and developments and translate them into solutions.
  • Proactive attitude and eagerness to embrace change in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements.

We are offering

Joining us means stepping into a role with impact, supported by excellent employment conditions that foster your job satisfaction, development, and wellbeing.
