Senior Legal Counsel – (Sustainable) Finance, Investment Funds & Regulatory

As a Senior Legal Counsel – (Sustainable) Finance, Investment Funds & Regulatory (English version) within the Impact, Finance & Technology practice group, you will advise a diverse range of clients, such as fund managers, investors and financial institutions, on complex legal and regulatory issues. From day one, you will be given a great deal of responsibility, have direct contact with clients and play an active role in the further development and growth of the practice.

What will you be doing?

As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for advising and supporting clients within the financial sector. You will work on a wide range of matters relating to financial regulation, fund structuring and compliance. In doing so, you will combine in-depth legal expertise with a pragmatic approach and maintain close contact with clients and regulators. Building relationships with (new) clients is a key part of this role.

• Advising clients on Dutch and European financial regulation and supervisory issues.
• Assisting with the establishment, structuring and management of investment funds and alternative fund structures.
• Providing support with licensing processes, registrations and compliance matters in dealings with regulators such as the AFM.
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating fund documentation, investment and management agreements.
• Conducting legal due diligence reviews and contributing to the further growth of the practice and client relationships.

What will you bring?

• A completed Master’s degree in Dutch or European Financial Law.
• Approximately 6 years’ relevant work experience in the field of investment funds, asset management, financial supervision law or financial services.
• In-depth knowledge of the AIFMD and the associated Dutch and European regulations.
• Experience with fund structuring, authorisation processes, governance issues and legal due diligence processes.
• Excellent command of English and strong analytical, communication and commercial skills. Fluency in Dutch is an advantage.
