Event management role at Haskoning

As Event Manager, you are responsible for building and leading a professional, high-impact event capability within Haskoning. This is a newly created, senior role within the Real Estate & Facility Management domain, where you will shape how we design, organise and deliver events that strengthen our brand, culture and client engagement.

You act as the central orchestrator of corporate events, ensuring they are not only flawlessly executed, but also strategically aligned with organisational objectives. You will work in close partnership with Brand, Marketing & Communication (BMC), Business Lines and the Executive Board, translating their ambitions into impactful event concepts and experiences.

Events are primarily hosted at our in-house facilities in Delft and range from executive sessions to larger-scale events up to 500 participants. You combine conceptual strength, structure and operational excellence, bringing consistency, quality and innovation to our events portfolio.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own and lead the end-to-end delivery of corporate events for internal and external audiences, from concept design to execution and evaluation
  • Act as a strategic partner to BMC and senior stakeholders, ensuring events contribute to brand positioning, business development and employee engagement
  • Translate objectives into compelling event concepts, formats and experiences
  • Establish and professionalise event management standards, processes and governance within the organisation
  • Ensure consistent quality and brand alignment across all events
  • Coordinate logistics, suppliers, facilities, hospitality and technical execution at the Delft location
  • Manage multiple events in parallel, maintaining clear oversight on timelines, budgets and risks
  • Lead on-site execution, ensuring a seamless and high-quality participant experience
  • Identify and implement innovative event formats and technologies
  • Drive continuous improvement through structured evaluation and feedback loops

Scope and mandate:

  • Lead and deliver all corporate events commissioned by BMC, Business Lines and the Executive Board
  • Scope includes internal events up to approximately 500 participants
  • Primary execution environment: in-house events at Haskoning Delft
  • Part of Facility Management NL, reporting directly to the Facility Manager NL
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy in event design and execution within agreed frameworks
  • Hold responsibility for quality, consistency and professionalisation of event delivery
  • Work in close alignment with Brand, Marketing & Communication as key content and branding owner
  • Play a key role in strengthening hospitality experience and organisational visibility
  • Contribute to establishing this role as a recognised center of expertise within DWS

Where you will work

At Haskoning, you will join an independent, employee-owned international consultancy that combines engineering, design and consultancy services with software and technology.

As our new Event Manager, you will become part of the corporate group Digital & Workplace Solutions (DWS) in the Netherlands. DWS provides services to the internal organisation, enabling colleagues to serve their clients in the best possible way.

DWS’s activities are divided across three domains: Enterprise IT & Services, Real Estate & Facility, and Digital & AI. In addition, there is a separate team for information security. The structure of DWS was recently reorganised to allow the three domains to come into their own more effectively. As a result, several new roles have been created, including that of Event Manager. This role will be part of Real Estate & Facility.

What you bring

We are looking for a senior event professional who combines creativity with structure, and strategy with execution. You bring a proven track record in delivering high-quality, business-relevant events in a complex organisational setting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in Event Management or a related field
  • Relevant professional certifications in event management are highly desirable
  • Minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience, with demonstrable success in delivering complex events
  • Proven ability to operate at senior stakeholder level, including executive audiences

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, both verbal and written; additional languages are a plus
  • Strong conceptual and organisational capabilities, with the ability to translate ideas into structured delivery
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, while maintaining strategic overview
  • Stress-resilient and effective under pressure, particularly during live events
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with a proactive, hands-on attitude
  • Natural sense of hospitality and client experience
  • Innovative and forward-looking, with a drive to continuously improve formats and impact
  • Skilled in stakeholder management, able to align diverse interests and expectations
  • Comfortable in a role that combines building, shaping and delivering

What you can expect from us

As this is a newly created role, you have the opportunity to build and define the event management capability from the ground up, setting the standard for quality, consistency and impact across the organisation.
