We're now looking for a Regional Category Manager to take ownership of our Building Components & Manufacturing Materials (BCMM) category across our International region, a diverse and dynamic portfolio stretching from Europe to Australia and the Philippines.

BCMM is one of CRH's most diverse and strategically important indirect categories. Your portfolio will span:

  • Building Components — Insulation, Masonry, Fasteners, Fencing, Construction Accessories, and Civils & Drainage.
  • Manufacturing Materials — Steel, Aluminium, Glass, Fiberglass, Rubber, and Timber.

This is a high-visibility, high-impact role at the heart of CRH's procurement organisation. You'll own the end-to-end category strategy for a broad and commercially significant spend portfolio, and you'll have the autonomy, the stakeholder network, and the resources to make it count.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set and execute category strategy across a complex, multi-country region, either developing regional strategies from the ground up or adapting global frameworks to local realities.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and supplier relationships across a rich category spanning steel, construction accessories, aluminium, insulation, fasteners, covers, glass, timber, and more.
  • Drive cross-divisional collaboration, bringing together OpCo teams, Divisional Procurement Directors, and business stakeholders to ensure sourcing decisions are made collectively and deliver shared value.
  • Run multi-country sourcing initiatives — tenders, RFx events, benchmarking exercises — and translate them into tangible savings and process improvements.
  • Act as the regional voice of the category, interfacing between central category management and local business units across 20+ markets.
  • Mentor and guide Divisional Category Managers, helping build procurement capability across the region.
  • Contribute to budgeting and business case development, bringing commercial rigour to investment decisions.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of procurement experience in an international setting.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading category teams or people management.
  • Experience managing a regional category in a large, complex, multi-country organisation.
  • Fluent written and verbal English is essential; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Significant experience with source-to-pay processes, negotiation, and contracting.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, with solid project management skills.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and collaborate across time zones.
  • Ability to work effectively across cultures and in a matrixed organisation.

What CRH Offers You

  • A culture that values opportunity for growth, development, and internal promotion
  • Comprehensive secondary benefits
  • Significant contribution to your pension plan
  • Health and wellness programs, including an on-site gym and fitness classes
  • Excellent opportunities to develop and progress with a global organization
