Junior/ Medior .NET Developer

Within the Investments & Data Technology department, the Investments Bespoke Solutions (IBS) team builds custom applications that directly support Robeco’s investment process and are used daily by portfolio managers and researchers. The team consists of around 20 engineers working in small, focused teams, each responsible for a set of applications. They operate fully in the cloud and focus on delivering reliable, scalable software with real business impact.

Teams are small and autonomous, consisting of developers, a lead developer, and a Product Owner. They are responsible for their applications and work closely with the business to deliver improvements. The Product Owner sets priorities, while developers design and build solutions. A Solution Architect provides overall guidance to keep teams aligned.

They follow a DevSecOps approach, with full ownership from development to production. Automation, security, and quality are built into how they deliver. Applications run on Azure, are modular and API-driven, and integrate with platforms like Snowflake. Front-end applications are built in Vue.js.

Position & Requirements

As a Junior/Medior .NET Developer, you’ll work on applications used daily by investment professionals. You’ll contribute to real features from the start and be part of a team that builds, maintains and runs software end-to-end. Depending on your experience, you’ll grow from learning core engineering practices to taking ownership of solutions and driving improvements.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with cloud development on Azure, DevSecOps practices, automated testing, and CI/CD, helping deliver reliable and scalable software.

This role is ideal if you want to grow as a developer in a practical, high-impact environment, where you not only write code, but learn how to build and operate software that truly matters.

Candidate Profile

• Education: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Programming Skills: Basic knowledge of .NET and C#. Familiarity with object-oriented principles and willingness to learn SOLID principles and design patterns.
• Frontend Basics: Interest in modern frameworks like Vue.js, Angular, or React; experience is a plus, not a must.
• Testing Awareness: Understanding of why automated testing matters; exposure to tools like xUnit or NUnit is a bonus.
• Cloud & DevOps Interest: Enthusiasm to learn about Azure services, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization.
• Mindset: Curious, proactive, and eager to work in an Agile environment with Scrum ceremonies such as Daily Standups, Refinement and Retrospective.
• Language Proficiency: Proficient in both Dutch and English (written and spoken).
