In the role of Global Supply Chain Security Manager, you will oversee the cargo risk management function, providing line management, leadership and strategic direction for the function and liaising closely with other relevant stakeholders. You will help build and maintain the investigative framework for a risk-management program within the supply chain organization.

You will be a key member working with both internal and external teams and will be instrumental in driving global investigation initiatives along with the subject matter experts (SME) from other relevant functions to effect continual improvements and solution building in the areas of loss/theft prevention, misappropriation of assets, threats, etc. within the company based on risk & vulnerability across the network.

About the role

The impact you’ll make:

  • Identify, develop and implement SCS management program viz. design, process, framework and other relevant elements required to meet the unique needs of Cargo safety.
  • Drive consensus for acceptable levels for risks and best practices across the supply chain and influence where no formal reporting structures exist.
  • Take global responsibility for coordinating investigations in close consultation with the SMEs from appropriate departments throughout the company, identifying security risks to reduce or eliminate financial loss, damage, injury, death, or otherwise, and to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Conduct risk assessments of sites involved in goods flow – warehouses, factories, finished goods suppliers, logistics carriers, etc. to ensure cargo safety and brand reliability.
  • Conduct interviews with employees, stakeholders and related witnesses to determine facts and obtain statements regarding internal and external incidents.
  • Coordinate investigations, analyzing and compiling a wide variety of information, materials, documents, reports and evidence in support of SCM operations and investigations.
  • Maintain the appropriate records reflecting an adequate chain of custody.
  • Provide executive briefings and presentations to Senior Management relative to investigation results and recommended corrective actions.
  • Enhance, track and report on risk metrics which are key performance indicators, allowing performance improvements so that the desired outcomes are achieved to plan and in a timely manner.
  • Provide support and inputs to key internal and external stakeholders in implementing the team’s risk framework.
  • Maintain incident report management database including cargo claims.
  • Partner with business partners to help build actionable intelligence and financial closures.
  • Prepare and thoroughly document factual and impartial findings in a timely and professional manner utilizing rules of judicial evidence and in accordance with regulatory requirements.

The skills and knowledge you’ll bring:

  • Master’s degree in supply chain or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10+ years of related experience in transportation and warehousing, including 3+ years of security experience involving a mix of law enforcement, privacy, military, intelligence and/or corporate experience.
  • Experience conducting or managing investigations.
  • Ability to use case management systems and applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex investigation challenges and customize, implement and execute innovative processes and solutions.
  • Knowledge of criminal and civil procedure as it relates to evidence, privacy and interviewing.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship skills.
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis, draw sound inferences, prioritize key factors, act decisively, promptly and confidently, remain flexible in approach, and operate with limited guidance from management.
