Are you passionate about Credit Risk and implementation, and eager to take on challenging, large-scale initiatives? If so, we invite you to join our Financial Risk Grid Value Proposition Team at ABN AMRO as a Credit Risk Consultant.

Your job

As part of the Value Proposition Team (VPT), your focus will be on optimizing change implementations within the Financial Risk Grid. You’ll be responsible for translating complex Finance and Risk (regulatory) requirements into actionable proposals, enabling various change teams to implement them effectively.

The Financial Risk Grid supports a broad range of Finance and Risk processes, making it a dynamic and stimulating environment. Together, we aim to redefine the way we work—creating a more agile, efficient, and forward-looking organization.

As a Credit Risk Consultant, you’ll lead large, complex implementation projects that impact the entire credit value chain. Your work will focus on key Financial Risk processes and systems, such as:

  • IRB model implementation and Rating Assignment
  • Credit Risk RWA (Risk-Weighted Assets) calculation
  • Economic Capital calculation
  • IFRS 9 provision calculation
  • Stress Testing processes and related calculators
  • Distressed Client Management
  • Risk Classification and assessments

Working environment

In this role, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of ABN AMRO’s risk management. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the bank’s compliance with regulations, profitability, and capital position. You’ll collaborate with a diverse team of experts from various backgrounds, fostering a culture of collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and continuous growth. This is your opportunity to make a meaningful difference while advancing your career.

Your profile

  • At least 5 years of experience in relevant roles, preferably within large financial institutions or consulting firms. Demonstrated success in managing complex projects is essential.
  • A university degree or equivalent professional experience.

Skills

  • Credit Risk Expertise: Strong knowledge of Credit Risk, including Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR), IFRS 9 Financial Instruments and/or EBA Guidelines on Loan Origination and Monitoring (LOM). An affinity with data and its application within Credit Risk is considered an advantage.
  • Change Management: Significant experience in complex change environments, with the ability to translate strategic plans into efficient delivery.
  • Analytical Thinking: A sharp analytical mindset, with proficiency in tools like PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Project and Stakeholder Management: Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to engage, activate, and manage diverse stakeholders effectively.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Organizational Awareness: A strong sensitivity to organizational dynamics and stakeholder needs.
  • Collaboration: A team player with the ability to work independently when required.

We are offering

  • An attractive gross monthly salary based on a 36-hour work week, including holiday allowance and a flexible benefit budget.
  • An excellent pension scheme, ensuring that you are well prepared for the future.
  • Flexibility in working: working from home is possible in consultation with your team and depending on your role. We will provide an ergonomic home office setup for you.
  • Plenty of room for relaxation with five weeks of vacation per year, supplemented by two mandatory days off. You can also purchase up to four additional weeks of vacation annually.
  • Five “Banking for better days”: extra days off that you can use for personal development or volunteer work.
  • Personal development is key: you receive a development budget of €1,000 per year, which can accumulate up to €3,000.
  • An annual public transport pass with free public transportation throughout the Netherlands for both business and private use.
