Key Account Manager BNL

Consumer Products Division (CPD)

As a Key Account Manager, you will be part of one of our channel teams within the commercial division. You will bear the responsibility of managing a significant product portfolio for both the Netherlands and Belgium. This is a major responsibility: this portfolio represents one of our key business areas, and you will be leading the commercial relationship with one of our top-tier retail partners.

To succeed in this position, we are looking for a commercial leader who gets energy from building long-term business relationships and knows how to navigate a fast-paced matrix organization. You excel at managing stakeholders both internally (Marketing, Business Development, Supply Chain, Finance) and externally (Category Managers and Buyers). You are highly entrepreneurial, proactive, and eager to drive sustainable, profitable growth with a data-driven and Revenue Growth Management (RGM) mindset.

You possess strong analytical skills to control your business, but you are also highly pragmatic when the situation requires swift execution.

The commercial team consists of Account Managers and Account Supports, reporting directly to the Group Account Manager. You will work very closely with Business Planning and Commercial Controlling.

Your responsibilities are:

  • Strategic Partnership: Co-creating and executing the Joint Business Plan (JBP) with your retailer, aligning L'Oréal's brand priorities with the customer's strategic focus.
  • Commercial Vision: Contributing to the division's business strategy by identifying account perspectives, market trends, and category growth opportunities.
  • P&L Ownership: Full P&L responsibility for your category, optimizing promotional ROI, trade investments, and retailer media based on data and RGM principles.
  • Negotiations: Leading yearly negotiations on customer investments, commercial terms, and securing optimal shelf space and visibility for our innovations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serving as the primary window to the retailer while managing daily alignment with internal cross-functional partners (Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain).
  • Forecasting & Demand Planning: Guaranteeing accurate sales forecasting and close alignment with Supply Chain to secure high service levels.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Experience: 3+ years of commercial experience in FMCG (as an Account Manager, Junior KAM, or Category Manager).
  • Education: Master’s degree.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with a proven track record of managing complex external stakeholders.
  • Analytical Power: Ability to translate complex data (market share, scanner data, promo performance) into concrete commercial actions.
  • Languages: Fluent in Dutch & English (must). French is a strong plus.

What do we offer?

When you start at L'Oréal, you get a great deal of responsibility from day one. To support your development, we offer a dedicated onboarding program and an individual training path. Training can be local or at our global headquarters in Paris—an enriching experience where you will meet international peers.

And furthermore, you will find with us:
