Structurer / Originator - Flex (Belgian Market)

You will work in a collaborative and people-oriented environment where ownership and trust are central. Together with colleagues from trading, legal, risk and operations, you work on challenging projects that require both commercial insight and strong teamwork.

• Negotiate high-impact energy deals, with contract values reaching hundreds of millions in long-term agreements.
• Build and leverage your network in the Belgian energy market to originate new business.
• Combine commercial negotiation, structuring skills and stakeholder management at a senior level.

What you’ll do

As a Structurer (also known externally as Originator), you focus on developing and closing commercial energy contracts related to flexible assets such as batteries.

Your prime focus will be the Belgian market, but in collaboration with the team you will also be involved in the Dutch and German markets, where you:

• Build and maintain relationships with project developers and investors;
• Identify opportunities and generate new leads;
• Develop indicative offers and commercial propositions;
• Lead negotiations with external counterparties;
• Coordinate internal approval processes with senior stakeholders.

You connect the external market with Eneco’s internal organization, ensuring that commercial opportunities align with strategy, risk frameworks and operational capabilities.

Is this about you?

You are commercially driven and enjoy working in a complex environment where deals require time, persistence and strong stakeholder management.

You bring:

• Around 8+ years of relevant experience in energy markets, such as trading and structuring of flex solutions;
• An existing professional network and affinity with the Belgian regulatory landscape;
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to lead complex deal processes;
• Experience with structured contracts or long-term commercial agreements;
• Academic working and thinking level.

You feel comfortable working with senior stakeholders and navigating complex decision-making processes. You stay motivated and focused to find solutions, also when deal processes hamper and take longer.

You’ll be responsible for

• Keeping track of the latest developments in the Belgian energy markets and regulatory framework;
• Originating new opportunities within the Belgian flex market;
• Managing relationships with developers, investors and other (potential) partners;
• Leading deal processes from initial contact to contract closure;
• Structuring and negotiating contracts for large-scale energy assets;
• Aligning internally with teams such as portfolio management, trading, legal, risk and finance;
• Guiding deals through internal governance and approval processes.

About the team

You will join the Structuring & Origination Flex team within Eneco. The team consists of experienced professionals who all have similar responsibilities, with different focus areas across countries.

The team operates across the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany and has built a strong position in the flexible energy markets.

You will focus primarily on Belgium and work together closely with colleagues in Rotterdam and beyond. Especially in the beginning, being present in the Rotterdam office regularly helps you build strong relationships and getting up to speed quickly.
