Do you want to help shape the future of aviation – advising clients on some of the most complex strategic and financial challenges in the industry? As an Aviation Business Consultant at NACO, you work on high-impact projects for clients across the globe. If you thrive on translating data into decisions that help airports worldwide make better decisions, this is the role for you.

What will you do

As an Aviation Business Consultant, you advise airports, investors, and governments on strategy, market dynamics, and financial viability. You work across aviation market analysis, demand forecasting, business planning, financial modelling, and investment appraisal for airport master planning, transactions, and infrastructure investments. Within multidisciplinary project teams, you take ownership of complex analytical workstreams and translate data into clear, actionable recommendations for international clients.

In this role, you will work on:

  • Traffic & Market Analysis: You conduct aviation market assessments, develop passenger demand forecasts using econometric and scenario-based methodologies, and evaluate airline networks, route performance, and competitive airport dynamics to identify growth opportunities and risks.
  • Airport Financial Planning: You develop financial models, business plans, and feasibility assessments for airport development projects – forecasting revenues, costs, capital expenditure, and funding requirements to assess project viability and support investor due diligence.
  • Investment Appraisal: You conduct investment appraisals, scenario analyses, and risk assessments that support strategic decision-making across airport master planning and infrastructure investment projects.
  • Client Engagement & Delivery: You deliver clear reports and presentations that turn complex analyses into actionable advice, and you collaborate with clients from problem definition through to final recommendations.
  • Work Together & Share Knowledge: You contribute to proposal development and drive continuous improvement of analytical tools and consulting methodologies.

Where you will work

You will join a small, specialised team of aviation business consultants within the larger Airport Strategy & Planning practice at NACO in Delft. While the team focuses on market analysis, traffic forecasting, business planning, and financial advisory, it works closely with airport planners, terminal architects, and other aviation specialists to deliver integrated solutions for national and international clients.

The team is passionate about aviation, highly analytical, curious, and driven by critical thinking. Colleagues challenge assumptions, explore new perspectives, and translate complex data into practical insights. With colleagues from different nationalities, backgrounds, and career stages, the environment is collaborative and diverse viewpoints strengthen the work.

NACO brings together deep, global aviation expertise and is part of Haskoning, combining specialised aviation knowledge with broader multidisciplinary expertise. With over 265 colleagues from more than 40 nationalities, English is the working language.

Haskoning is an independent, employee-owned international consultancy that combines engineering, design, and consultancy services with software and technology.

What you bring

You are analytical and enjoy working with complex data and translating it into clear, actionable insights. You are comfortable taking ownership of your work and interacting directly with clients.

Besides that, you have:

  • 2-3 years of experience in consultancy, transport, infrastructure or a similar analytical environment
  • Master’s degree in econometrics, finance, logistics, engineering or a related field
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, and preferably proficiency in another language

Nice to have:

  • Experience in aviation or airport-related projects and the industry`s current challenges
  • Experience working in a client-facing or project-based environment
  • Experience with BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) or programming languages (e.g. Python)

Don’t meet every requirement, or have more or less experience than listed? We encourage you to apply anyway.

What we offer you

Haskoning offers a benefits package designed to support professional development and personal well-being.

What we offer:

  • Work-life balance: 28 vacation days (based on full-time employment), with the option to purchase an additional 16.5 days per year and to exchange three public holidays for days that are personally meaningful to you. The role includes a hybrid model with flexible hours, a home office allowance, and a fully equipped home workspace.
  • Development opportunities: A wide range of training and development programs, including tailored learning paths, learning weeks, and various knowledge-sharing groups.
  • NACO Academy: Access to over 100 aviation-focused courses through the in-house NACO Academy, designed to foster knowledge sharing, support personal development, and strengthen expertise in areas such as sustainability, design, and consultancy.
