As Associate UX Director ar DEPT®, you lay the foundation for industry-leading digital experiences. You're low-key obsessed with figuring things out and always trying to find the right balance between understandable and different.

You are analytical but pragmatic. You understand how great experience translates all the way back to the brand. You’re able to fluently switch between low- and high fidelity thinking and making. And you have a natural tendency to take the lead in projects and provide structure, oversight and guidance.

This role is part of our Experience & Engineering team in EMEA and is dedicated to one of our key accounts in this market.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Next to craft, you are accountable for the client team’s output. You collaborate with the core leaderhip team to make decisions about casting, direction and support within all project teams.
  • Outside of the project team, you will foster close collaboration with international teams across the EMEA region as well as with other crafts such as Strategy, Content and Tech, ensuring that our Design practice does not operate in isolation but serves as a driving force for collective growth.
  • Within the local team, you will act as an internal and external voice, showcasing our pioneering work through speaking engagements and industry contributions to build our reputation as a growth innovation company.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • 12+ years of experience in UX or product design, combined with in-depth expertise in complex digital ecosystems and fast-paced agency environments, with proven experience working with large, international brands and complex stakeholder environments. While experience in e-commerce isn't mandatory, it would be a great advantage.
  • You have a proven track record across the entire design value chain, from user research and strategic planning to hands-on product design. Your portfolio showcases high-impact results and measurable business growth.
  • You have over 8+ years' experience in people leadership. Managing and mentoring talent in an international (multi-country) setup would be an added bonus.
  • You can seamlessly switch between planned work, last minute requests and escalations with a pragmatic- and solution-oriented approach.
  • Not only are you curious about digital trends, AI and new technologies, you are also committed to incorporating relevant innovations into your work.
  • You are a strong and effective communicator; able to translate complex problems and strategies into compelling pitches and briefs. Full professional proficiency in both German and English (C1 level) is mandatory.

WE OFFER:

  • Flexible, hybrid working policy (50% days at the office, depending on location);
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Occasional breakfast/lunch at the office, Smoothie Tuesdays.
