Are you naturally curious, able to quickly set up tests independently, feeling at home at the farm and knowledgeable about data analysis? Then this vacancy could be interesting for you.

This function combines data analysis with actual testing on the farm. As an Agricultural Engineer you are responsible for ensuring quality and reliability of our high tech sensor devices. You do this by both putting our devices to test in the field and validating if our products meet all specified requirements by collecting, cleaning and analyzing data.

In this role, you will contribute to the development and release of new products and improving existing products that take dairy farming to the next level in terms of sustainability, efficiency, and decision-making. You work closely with developers, domain experts and users. You will regularly be on the road to start new tests or monitor ongoing tests and gathering data. Worldwide traveling is part of the fun. Our test farms are everywhere: near Groenlo and in the rest of the world, so do not be afraid to travel.

What are you going to do?

Validation

Design, plan, and execute field tests.

Coordination

Bring together colleagues and resources for large-scale validation activities.

Monitoring

Track and evaluate ongoing tests and field performance.

Documentation

Ensure accurate and structured reporting of test setups and outcomes.

Data analysis

Transform data into insights that support product validation and quality improvements.

Stakeholder management

Build and maintain relationships with test farms and partners worldwide.

Contract management

Manage agreements and administrative processes related to validation projects.

Your team

As an Agricultural Engineer, you will be part of the SmartTag team within Livestock. This is a multidisciplinary team comprising various disciplines, working together to develop, test, manufacture and maintain the SmartTag from start to finish. As well as working closely together on technical matters, we value a friendly, informal atmosphere – a chat over a cup of coffee is always on the cards.

As data analysis is part of your job, you will also join the data discipline group. This group consists of the Data Discipline Lead and data scientists, data engineers and data analysts of Livestock. Here you find guidance and support and together you discover and learn on in depth data topics.

What's in it for you?

In addition to your salary, you are entitled to a thirteenth month, a good pension scheme, and profit sharing with the opportunity to become a shareholder of Nedap. At Nedap, everything revolves around trust and autonomy. That’s why, along with your colleagues, you decide on your own working hours and vacation days to maintain a healthy work-life balance. We also highly value personal and professional growth. You will receive a comprehensive introduction, and we encourage you to continuously develop yourself.

Required skills

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague who wants to kick-start his/her career. You communicate clearly, think analytically, and enjoy working independently. You are proactive, eager to learn, and comfortable combining practical fieldwork with structured, data-driven thinking.

Furthermore, you recognize yourself in the following:

  • Education: You hold a university degree in Biosystems Engineering, Animal Sciences, or a closely related field.
  • Data skills: Technical skills with a focus on data analysis and data visualization.
  • Reporting: Strong skills in writing structured reports and documentation.
  • Nice to have: Experience and knowledge of Python, but certainly not a must.
  • Language skills: You are proficient in both English and Dutch, both spoken and written.

Good to know: Hybrid working, partly remote, is common at Nedap. In consultation with your colleagues, you coordinate your working hours to ensure a good work-life balance. We would like to see you on our campus in Groenlo at least two days a week.
