Vacature omschrijving

Do you get excited by a creative challenge? Then the part-time position as a Visual Merchandiser might be just right for you.

We are looking for a Visual Merchandiser for between 32 and 36 hours per week who will contribute to an inspiring and commercial in-store experience.

What you'll be doing day to day

Your workdays preferably start early in the morning. As a Visual Merchandiser, you are responsible for the visual appearance of the entire store. You contribute to positioning IKEA as the best home furnishings retailer in the market and have knowledge of “people’s life at home.” You come up with new ways to present and demonstrate products.

In addition, you ensure the layout supports the mechanical sales system, maintain various display and presentation areas throughout the store, and know how to exceed customer expectations. Through strong collaboration with other departments, you are always looking for inspiring solutions that enhance the sales process.

You are a specialist who shares your knowledge and enthusiasm with colleagues. You enjoy both leading and executing projects, as well as keeping the store vibrant and well-maintained.

Our team within IKEA

Working in a team where everyone is 100% there for each other—that’s exactly what you’re looking for. In our Com & In department, we help each other when things get busy; at IKEA, we are one team. Together, we make it a great experience. We want to make the customer happy. We do this with a diverse team of all ages, backgrounds, and personalities. You’ll gain a second family that values every talent (big or small).

In addition to recognizing yourself in our values, having a passion for home furnishing, and wanting to further develop yourself and IKEA, you also recognize yourself in the following:

  • Preferably a completed degree in Visual Merchandising, product presentation, and spatial design. At minimum, a higher professional education (HBO) level of thinking and working.
  • Knowledge and experience with 3D programs.
  • Creative and commercial visual skills with a keen eye for aesthetics in shop design.
  • Able to verbally explain concepts and visual interpretations.
  • Able to prioritize and organize your own work to use available time as efficiently as possible and meet agreed deadlines.
  • Strong passion and affinity with interiors, retail design, styling & trends.
  • Recent work experience in retail, preferably as a Visual Merchandiser.
  • You show courage, entrepreneurship, and are confident in making decisions.
  • You are energetic, commercially minded, solution-oriented, and always looking for new and better ideas.
  • You are flexible, have a practical approach to your responsibilities, and can meet set deadlines.

Good for our planet and for you

What we do today, we will do even better tomorrow. Together, we care for people and the environment. And IKEA also takes good care of you:

  • From the age of 18, depending on your knowledge and experience, you will receive an all-in hourly wage starting at €20.14 per hour. This hourly wage includes a 13th month and 8% holiday allowance. These are normally paid in December and May, but you can also request to have them paid monthly. If you choose the latter, the stated all-in hourly wage applies.
  • If you work before 7:00 a.m. or after 9:00 p.m., you receive an allowance. On Sundays and public holidays, you receive an allowance throughout the entire day.
  • A collective bonus rule. This is determined annually and can be up to 150% of your gross monthly salary.
  • Public transport travel expenses are reimbursed 100%. If you live within a radius of 5 to 20 km from the IKEA location, you can also opt for a lease bike. If you do not travel by public transport or lease bike, you will receive a travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometer (up to a maximum of €243 per month).
  • 15% employee discount at all IKEA stores in the Netherlands.
  • An informal and open work environment where your development matters.

Become part of an inspiring, enjoyable, and fast-developing environment.
