Within Sales & Operations in Hengelo, Thales is looking for a Market and Competition Analyst / Manager.
About the team
Marketing consists of the following groups:
- Marketing, responsible for the definition of our market(s), the market needs, the go-to-market and the marketing communication, supporting Sales with campaigns and materials and Product Management in value proposition development and pricing strategy.
- Operational Business Development (OBD), responsible for gathering and understanding operational inputs convincing customers on the operational relevance our solutions and stay thought leader to support future business.
- Competition & Market Intelligence (CMI), responsible for market size and share analysis, gathering business and competitor insights and assessing industrial and geopolitical trends.
Marketing closely works together with the product teams (including Technical Innovation) and the Sales teams in order to define the marketing strategy, support these teams with operational marketing support and provide the intelligence required to win business.
About the job
As Competition & Market Intelligence Manager you will contribute to improve the TNL-NAVAL information position on markets and competitors, in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness of our Strategy, Sales and Product Teams to improve our position in the market. You will be tasked with the following activities:
- Coordinate the CMI team actions in close cooperation with the marketing director.
- Structure methods and processes for information gathering from both Thales and external sources on customers and competitors, based on the articulated needs of Marketing, Sales and Product Management.
- Analyse the data and create business analysis reports on customers, markets and competitors.
- Participate in the Thales Group Strategic Business Analysis activities, with an emphasis on the Thales global Naval business.
- Support the Strategic Business Plan, Sales plan and Product plan with trend analysis and customer profiles.
- Contribute to developing and strengthening the digital CMI framework (methods, tools).
- Deploy various value and bid marketing tools like Black Hats and Price-to-Win analysis.
- Maintain the market and competitor databases.
About you
- You have a relevant Master Degree and at least 5 to 7 years of experience in the defence industry.
- You have a strong affinity with the (naval) defence market and a good knowledge of international relations / geopolitics.
- You like to search for pieces of information, combine them into a relevant business analysis report that draws relevant conclusions to be used for strategy definition, product decisions and support the sales process.
- You are keen on providing your customers (strategy, sales, products, marketing) with relevant marketing information having our strategy as well as commercial stakes in mind at any moment.
- You are a team player and have excellent international communication skills and are able to discuss independently with strategy, sales and product management and understand their business needs.
- You like to work in an international organization and have the ability to create and maintain effective information networks.
