How you can make a difference

Your new job and workplace.

As a graduation intern within the CTP platform, you will directly contribute to improving the accessibility of customer and subscription information within Albert Heijn’s Windmill applications. You will do this together with colleagues from the Subscriptions team, Product Owners, engineers, and back-office specialists.

Across multiple teams, there is a growing need for a smart GenAI chatbot that can combine information from various data sources and make it easily accessible for internal users. This includes data from Oracle databases, OutSystems screens, and different viewers within Windmill.

You will support the team in designing, researching, and developing an AI solution that helps employees gain faster insights into subscriptions and related customer information. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing a GenAI chatbot within Windmill applications.
  • Retrieving and combining data from various internal systems and data sources.
  • Investigating security, privacy, and authorization challenges related to AI and customer data.
  • Developing a scalable solution that can be used across multiple viewers, such as the Subscriptions Viewer, Payments Viewer, and Order Viewer.
  • Enriching the chatbot with domain knowledge related to subscriptions and incentives.
  • Researching context switching and authorization structures for different user roles.

The assignment is intentionally open-ended, allowing room to explore your own interests and focus areas. This means you can specialize in AI engineering, security, architecture, UX, or backend integrations.

The Subscriptions domain provides an especially interesting environment for this assignment because multiple data sources are combined to create a complete overview of a subscription. In addition, the team offers sufficient guidance, time, and support to help make your graduation project successful.

What we offer you.

  • An interesting and versatile graduation internship at Albert Heijn’s headquarters for 5–6 months, starting September 2026.
  • An internship with a high level of responsibility, where you gain real work experience.
  • The opportunity to work on innovative AI solutions within a complex technical environment.
  • Intensive guidance from the Subscriptions team.
  • An internship allowance (€500 every four weeks) plus travel expense reimbursement.
  • Social events and networking opportunities with all interns at our headquarters.
  • An inclusive environment where you can continuously develop yourself both personally and professionally.

What you bring.

You are analytically strong and passionate about AI and software development.

Additionally:

  • You are currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
  • You have an affinity with Generative AI, backend development, and system integrations.
  • You are interested in security and privacy-related challenges.
  • You are familiar with modern software development and API integrations.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, AI tooling, or databases is a strong plus.
  • You combine technical curiosity with a proactive attitude and strong communication skills.

In addition, you are:

  • Someone who can conduct independent research and take initiative.
  • A true team player; you actively seek collaboration and ensure knowledge is shared.
  • Curious enough to understand complex systems and processes.
