Job Description

Are you motivated to contribute in a global, multidisciplinary engineering environment that fosters continuous professional growth? Help build our new division at a dedicated site: a completely new end-to-end facility for powder filling and packaging, compliant with EU-GMP and FDA regulations.

Join us at our Boxmeer Animal Health Manufacturing site as Process Engineer.

Welcome to the team

We are at the start of something big. In Boxmeer, we are building a completely new, independent division – a mini-site – centered around an innovative powder filling line. The factory is currently under construction, and the production process is entirely new. As we supply products globally, including to the United States, we are establishing the site from day one in accordance with the latest EU-GMP and FDA quality requirements.

The new division is responsible for all GMP-related activities: from quality management and validation to training, documentation, and audit readiness. For general non-GMP activities, support will be provided by the central site.

Once operational, this division will grow to approximately 80–100 colleagues who will work together to improve animal health worldwide. What makes this environment unique is the opportunity to contribute to the development of a brand-new factory and its processes, including the layout, equipment selection, and qualifications. At the same time, you will have the chance to develop yourself in a new discipline—powder filling—with extensive growth opportunities. The site will function as an independent mini-site with its own Quality Management System and procedures, while operating in compliance with both EU-GMP and FDA standards to support global supply. Additionally, the work offers end-to-end responsibility, covering everything from raw material to final packaging under one roof.

You will become part of the PTS team in Boxmeer, which supports both the new site and the existing Boxmeer location in supply, regulatory, and compliance activities for existing and new small molecule products. This is achieved through demonstrating strong scientific process understanding to ensure reliable, compliant, and cost-effective supply. The scope of work includes technology transfer between sites, process engineering and validation, complex troubleshooting, change control, process development and improvement, as well as product quality review.

About the role

In this dynamic position you are responsible for challenging technology projects to support manufacturing of Boxmeer small molecule products, as well as supporting and leading global strategic projects and activities. The majority of these projects will concentrate around sterile suspended pharmaceuticals. In the first years, this role will be focused on technology transfers.

You will be challenged to further develop as a Subject Matter Expert in the area of pharmaceutical production processes. In this position you will gain knowledge of powder filling, sterile manufacturing, and the associated requirements including raw material, equipment and process changes, and analytics.

As Process Engineer you will lead root cause investigations of major manufacturing or quality issues, projects for continuous improvement, and technology transfer. You will connect with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and external laboratories, including occasional external visits across Europe.

Primary responsibilities

  • Manage and contribute to end-to-end technical projects at the Boxmeer site, including API-, packaging-, and process-related changes, and lead or contribute to cross-functional teams for the submission, approval, and implementation of these efforts.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing sites, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, Pharma R&D, Procurement, and Contract Manufacturing Organizations.
  • Serve as a troubleshooter for technical issues and challenges in the manufacturing environment.
  • Lead and contribute to the introduction of new technology platforms.
  • Provide in-line product support and implement productivity initiatives through scientific rigor and appropriate technical expertise.
  • Support regulatory inspections for PTS-owned GMP systems.
  • Engage in knowledge management, communities of practice, virtual technical networks, and best-practice sharing.

Your profile

  • Master’s or PhD degree in Science, Bioprocess Technology, Pharmaceutical Technology, or a related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in a technology or manufacturing position.
  • Experience as a project manager, connecting multidisciplinary teams, and organizing and supporting individual activities and interactions. Collaboration is key.
  • Experience with GMP, cGMP compliance, powder handling and filling, Lean Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing tools, statistics, and regulatory compliance are assets.
  • Ability to go deep into a project while also handling multiple projects at the same time.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch are required.
  • Strong adaptability, teamwork, computer literacy, data analysis, and training and development capabilities.

What we offer

  • A 3% year-end allowance and an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
  • A minimum of 35.5 days of paid leave.
  • Travel expense reimbursement and a solid pension plan.
  • A high-quality company restaurant offering fresh and healthy options daily.
  • Excellent accessibility: the train station is located directly at the main entrance, and ample parking is available.
  • A beautiful private park on site, ideal for walking, taking a break, or relaxing.
  • Mental wellbeing support via Lyra Health for you and your family members.
  • Access to a dedicated prayer/meditation room.
  • Extensive career development opportunities thanks to the size of the site and the presence of many disciplines and global departments represented in Boxmeer.
  • A workplace within an organization that continues to grow and evolve.
