As a Product Compliance and Homologation Specialist, your mission will be to ensure that all passenger car products comply with national and European homologation regulations, supporting the successful launch and continuity of vehicles in the Benelux market.

You will act as the key interface between the European Product Compliance team and the local Product team in Benelux, ensuring smooth collaboration, regulatory alignment, and efficient vehicle registration and approval processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure business continuity from a homologation perspective by guaranteeing that the entire product portfolio complies with applicable legislation.
  • Coordinate and execute all necessary steps related to vehicle registrations.
  • Independently manage homologation and product compliance projects.
  • Prepare official homologation documentation and support approval and certification processes.
  • Monitor end-of-series processes and manage derogations when applicable.
  • Stay up to date with national and European automotive regulations, providing expert guidance internally.
  • Support local projects and product specialists on regulatory and compliance-related matters.
  • Collaborate closely with the European Product Compliance department and local Product teams to ensure all national requirements are fulfilled.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and industry associations.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification.
  • Solid experience and strong knowledge of national and European homologation legislation and automotive regulations.
  • Expertise in the legal aspects of vehicle registration processes.
  • Experience preparing and submitting homologation documentation, technical reports, and compliance materials.
  • Previous experience within the automotive industry.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data handling and documentation.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, responsible, and able to work independently.
  • Fluency in English; Dutch and French are a plus.

BYD Europe mainly focuses on New Energy products, including Electric Vehicles (principally buses), Rechargeable batteries, Solar Panel, Energy Storage and Rail Transit.

Besides that, BYD has two factories in Europe, one located in Komarom, Hungary, and the other located in Beauvais, France. Electric buses manufactured by those two factories will be exported to customers across continental Europe. It is also in partnership with Alexander Dennis in the UK which assembles jointly developed buses for the UK market.

Up to now, the footprint of BYD electric vehicles covers over 70 major European cities, which will undoubtedly grow in the future.
