Patagonia is an outdoor apparel company founded in 1973. At a time when all life on earth is under threat of extinction, we aim to use the resources we have—our business, our investments, our voice and our imagination—to influence changes needed to protect our planet. A registered B Corporation and founding member of 1% for the Planet, Patagonia is recognised internationally for its commitment to product quality and environmental activism, contributing over $145 million in grants and in-kind donations to thousands of grassroots environmental groups around the world.

Your role:

We’re in business to save our home planet. The Senior People & Culture Business Partner strengthens Patagonia EMEA’s organizational effectiveness by advising managers and teams on people-related topics across the employee lifecycle.

As the dedicated Business Partner for Finance, Operations, and IT, the role supports organizational health and performance within these functions by applying established frameworks to employee relations, organizational planning, and people processes. Operating across multiple countries, the position ensures consistent, compliant, and values-aligned practices while contributing to the implementation of regional priorities.

Main tasks:

  • Partner with managers and functional leaders across Finance, Operations, and IT on a broad range of people topics. Provide guidance on day-to-day organizational and employee matters, applying sound judgment within established frameworks to support effective and consistent decision-making.
  • Execute the implementation of the Career Development Framework (CDF) and Compensation frameworks across the supported functions, ensuring consistent and high-quality execution. Coach and guide managers through adoption, embed new ways of working, and manage change effectively to ensure clarity, fairness, and alignment with regional and global practices.
  • Manage employee relations cases across Finance, Operations, and IT, including performance management, absence, investigations, and workplace concerns. Work in close collaboration with the Employee Relations Advisor to ensure alignment on approach, application of European employment law, and consistency in case handling across countries. Apply sound judgment within established frameworks, independently resolving cases while escalating complex or sensitive matters as appropriate.
  • Partner with managers in shaping team structures and implementing organizational changes, applying established frameworks and practices. Anticipate impacts of structural decisions, ensure clarity in roles and responsibilities, and enable managers to communicate effectively within their teams.
  • Drive the execution of core People & Culture processes across the employee lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and consistency across multiple countries. Coordinate with P&C Operations, Total Rewards, and Talent Acquisition to deliver hiring, onboarding, internal movements, and exits in line with regional standards and timelines.

What we’re looking for:

  • An inclusive mindset
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a People & Culture Business Partner role
  • Full understanding of HR advisory and coaching, applying HR knowledge to guide managers through employee lifecycle topics and day-to-day people challenges, ensuring consistent and practical application of policies and frameworks within Finance, Operations, and IT.
  • Good understanding of European employment law application. Applies knowledge of multi-country legal frameworks to manage employee relations cases effectively, ensuring compliance and consistent application while using sound judgment within established practices.
  • Full understanding of stakeholder collaboration and communication
  • Demonstrable experience building effective working relationships with managers and cross-functional partners, adapting communication to different audiences and ensuring alignment across functions and countries.
  • Full understanding of organizational planning application with ability to conduct structured approaches to team design and organizational change, enabling managers to implement changes aligned with business needs and internal frameworks.
  • Prior experience in supporting implementation in job and pay architectures, coaching managers through managing conversations and learning and adopting new frameworks and processes
  • Strong focus on cultivating company’s culture through decisions and partnership
  • Full understanding of people processes and execution
  • Executes core People & Culture processes with accuracy and consistency, coordinating across functions and ensuring high-quality delivery across multiple countries and systems.
  • An interest in saving our home planet and making a positive impact through your work
