As our Transport Controller – Europe, you will act as a key finance business partner to the European Logistics organization, driving financial visibility, accuracy, and performance across transportation costs while supporting strategic decision-making.

The role

Optimize, enable, innovate! As our Transport Controller – Europe, you will play a critical role in managing reporting, forecasting, and planning of transportation costs across Europe. Acting as a co-pilot to the Transport function, you will ensure accurate financial data, deliver performance insights, and support operational and strategic initiatives within a complex logistics environment.

You will be reporting to the Transport / Supply Finance leadership, and you will manage:

1. Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

  • Lead the month-end close process for transportation costs across Europe
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of accruals and cost recognition
  • Review accrual files (e.g. ControlPay, freight audit data) with relevant teams
  • Manage manual accruals and non-PO invoices to ensure cost completeness
  • Book freight, customs duty, and service-related accruals

2. Performance Analysis & Insights

  • Perform deep-dive analysis on transportation costs and customs duties
  • Identify risks and opportunities vs. budget and forecasts
  • Deliver variance analysis across AOP, forecast, and prior year
  • Provide executive-level insights on cost drivers to senior leadership
  • Maintain and own transport finance dashboards

3. Financial Control & Data Accuracy

  • Ensure accurate booking and coding of transportation costs
  • Own and maintain key datasets (e.g. lane mapping, cost allocation structures)
  • Resolve complex master data and coding issues with relevant teams
  • Perform audits and reviews to ensure invoice accuracy and compliance
  • Collaborate with Freight Audit teams to ensure accurate invoicing and cost tracking

4. Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as key finance partner to Global Transport and Logistics teams
  • Present transportation performance in monthly reviews
  • Support business decision-making with data-driven insights
  • Partner with Procurement on RFQ processes and cost optimization initiatives
  • Serve as main contact for freight-related topics

5. Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to finance and logistics transformation projects
  • Build advanced Excel models to analyze cost, volume, and mix drivers
  • Support process improvements and automation opportunities
  • Contribute to evolving finance and logistics best practices

As a finance business partner with strong analytical capabilities, you thrive in a fast-paced, operational environment and enjoy working at the intersection of Finance and Supply Chain.

Your skills and experience include:

  • 5+ years of experience in Finance (planning, reporting, analysis)
  • Proven business partnering experience
  • Degree in Finance or Accounting qualification (e.g. CIMA or equivalent)
  • Strong Office skills; Power BI is a plus
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or HFM
  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to translate complex data into clear insights
  • Ability to work under deadlines and deliver results
  • Experience in logistics or transport finance is a strong advantage
