We are offering a hands-on HR internship within a high-volume manufacturing environment in Drachten, a leading hub for advanced manufacturing in the Netherlands. As part of the Manufacturing People Partner team, you will play an active role in HR operations, data analysis and local employee relations, contributing directly to the people, processes and culture of a large production facility.

Job description

Internship Title: HR Internship – Manufacturing People Partner Support

Start Date: As of September 2026

Duration: at least 6 months

Type: Internship (non-thesis)

Weekly Presence: 40h (minimum 32h)

It’s not possible to write a thesis with this internship.

Your role:

  • Support absenteeism processes, including registration, administration and leader follow-up.
  • Assist with engagement initiatives by preparing communications and implementing follow-up plans.
  • Coordinate the conversion of agency/temporary workers to direct contracts.
  • Advise and support managers on HR matters and performance improvement follow-ups.
  • Provide general HR administrative support to the manufacturing teams.
  • Collect, analyse and report HR metrics to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.

This internship provides practical, varied experience with immediate impact within a large organisation. You will receive guidance from experienced HR professionals and the opportunity to develop relevant HR skills in a real production setting.

You’re the right fit if:

  • You are currently studying for a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, and you are fluent in Dutch and English.
  • You are organised, communicative and proactive, with the ability to work independently. Excel skills are an advantage, and interest or experience in the manufacturing or industrial sector is a plus. Above all, you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic working environment.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

We offer you:

  • Monthly full-time allowance between €500 - €700 gross, depending on your education level and if you need to relocate to The Netherlands. Part-time internships receive the allowance pro-rata.
  • Housing compensation. Should you need to relocate to near our office, we’ll offer you a monthly allowance of €300 net if location is in the vicinity of Amsterdam, €255 net for all other Philips locations. To be eligible, we’ll just ask for the rental contract from your landlord, and your usual home-work travel distance needs to be more than 50 km or 1.5 hours of travel time for a one-way trip.
  • Travel compensation, if you are not eligible for a free public transport card; you will receive max. €192 net as a monthly allowance.
  • Paid holidays per internship term.
  • The opportunity to buy Philips products at our Philips shop.
