Boston Consulting Group is seeking a manager for a six-month fixed-term contract role focused on driving key Diversity and Inclusion initiatives to support BCG’s Unlocking Potential (UP) agenda at a LAB system level. UP is BCG's talent enablement function, integrating efforts across Diversity, Inclusion & Wellbeing, and this role sits at the heart of how that agenda is brought to life for employees. The successful candidate will own the LAB UP strategic agenda, engage with stakeholders, and lead communications strategies. Required qualifications include experience in communications, employee engagement, or people functions, strong stakeholder management skills, and project management capabilities. Familiarity with AI tools is essential, while experience working with or alongside Diversity, Inclusion, Wellbeing, or Flexible Working topics is preferred.

What You'll Do

Strategy & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Own and drive the LAB UP strategic agenda with specific focus on D&I initiatives, ensuring coherence across all pillars of UP
  • Act as a trusted thought partner to LAB Leadership and LAB UP MDPs, proactively clarifying priorities, challenging assumptions, and co-designing better ways of working
  • Build strong, trusted relationships across a wide stakeholder set, including local UP Leadership, Network Leads, and EMESA and Global UP teams
  • Support local and LAB-level diversity affiliation networks, address key concerns, share best practice across networks, and improve coordination and collaboration among networks and offices
  • Represent the LAB system in EMESA and Global UP workstreams, contributing to regional and global initiatives as appropriate

Communications & Engagement

  • Lead LAB UP communications strategy across email, Slack, and other channels, tailoring messaging, cadence, and tone to maximise relevance and minimise message fatigue
  • Develop and manage calendars aligned to key moments such as International Women’s Day, Pride Month, and Mental Health Awareness Week
  • Ensure brand and voice consistency across all LAB UP channels and touchpoints

Data and Analysis

  • Support and run ad-hoc D&I projects such as Gender Pay Gap reporting and setting up new diversity networks
  • Continue to drive improvements in existing data collection mechanisms to measure effectiveness of the LAB UP strategy, including analysis and communication of results to senior leaders and staff
  • Leverage AI tools to enhance speed and quality of communications and data analysis
  • Lead coordination and submission of data required for annual submission to obtain UK Disability Index score
  • Manage the LAB D&I budget

You are good at

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and navigate complex, matrixed environments
  • Highly self-driven and able to independently own and advance strategic priorities
  • Structured thinker with strong problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Experience driving strategic change and managing cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong project management capabilities with attention to detail and execution excellence
  • Ability to balance multiple workstreams with competing deadlines, working with a high degree of autonomy

Personal profile

  • Empathetic with an inclusive lens
  • Able to communicate mindfully on challenging topics to various audiences
  • Collaborative and relationship-oriented, with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proactive mindset, thinks ahead, anticipates blockers, and plans around them
  • Resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced, international environment
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability

What You'll Bring

  • Experience in communications, employee engagement, or people functions, ideally within professional services or a large international organisation
  • Demonstrated ability to own and execute communications and/or engagement strategies end-to-end
  • Proven track record planning and delivering events in multiple formats, including in-person, virtual, and hybrid
  • Experience working with or alongside Diversity, Inclusion, Wellbeing, or Flexible Working topics is a strong advantage
  • Comfort using AI tools to support and enhance content production and workflow efficiency
  • Fluent English (written and verbal); additional languages relevant to the LAB region are a plus

Please note this position is not restricted solely to the responsibilities listed above and that the job scope and responsibilities are subject to change.

Who You'll Work With

You'll work directly with the LAB UP Leadership, including LAB UP MDPs, Global UP nodes, the LAB People Chair, and the LAB People & Ops Executive Director, as well as with the wider People team on people-related projects. You will also collaborate closely with functional teams to drive change in key people processes and support various diversity networks where needed. You will support the day-to-day running of the LAB UP agenda, including steering and developing programming and content. You’ll report into the LAB People Strategy and Analytics Director and work closely with the LAB UP MDP, both of whom will provide developmental guidance and support.
