At Nedap in retail, you help international retailers better understand what is happening in their stores and supply chains as a Data Analyst. Retailers work with large volumes of RFID and application data, but data only becomes valuable when someone can turn it into clear insights, patterns, and concrete actions. That is exactly where you make the difference.

In this role, you investigate how our solutions are being used, the value they deliver, and where opportunities exist to further improve processes. You collect and process complex data from various sources, such as APIs and our Snowflake data warehouse, to provide insights into where deviations occur, which stores need extra attention, or how customers can gain more value from iD Cloud. In doing so, you help retailers make better decisions, reduce inventory loss, and optimize their store operations.

You will not be working behind your screen all day. You collaborate closely with colleagues from Sales, Account Management, Product Management, Implementation, and Customer Success. Sometimes you work directly with customers to solve a problem, sometimes you use data to support a product decision, and sometimes you uncover patterns yourself that lead to new insights or functionality. This allows you to directly contribute to the further development of our retail solutions and to the impact we make for customers worldwide.

Your tech stack: Python, SQL, Power BI

What are you going to do?

Your responsibilities

  • Develop analyses based on RFID and application data to make customer value visible.
  • Translate complex datasets into clear insights, recommendations, and visualizations for customers and internal teams.
  • Identify patterns, anomalies, and improvement opportunities in data, processes, and customer usage.
  • Check, validate, and structure data with many variables and edge cases.
  • Contribute to new functionalities and, where possible, support or validate them with data.

Your team

You will join a small, close-knit, multidisciplinary data team within retail. You will work with a data scientist, data engineer, data analyst, and team captain. You will also collaborate closely with Sales, Account Management, Product Management, Implementation, and Customer Success.

The team works closely together, helps each other move forward, and values a strong team fit. Alongside the analytical depth, there is room for informal moments too, such as dinner, gaming, or a board game night.

What's in it for you?

You will be working in a high-energy work environment that inspires, with access to all the resources you need to do the best possible job. You will be given scope to organise your working days yourself and we offer excellent pay and benefits.

  • You will receive a 13th month salary and share in the company’s profits – which you can use to acquire depositary receipts for Nedap shares – and we offer an attractive pension plan.
  • We offer an autonomous role in an involved team, along with plenty of room to grow in data analysis, customer interaction, and domain knowledge.
  • You design the work-life balance that is right for you. We do not log working hours, days off, and holiday leave. We trust you to take your responsibility when it comes to organising your work and taking time off.
  • Given that our people are the basis for our success, we are more than happy to invest in your development. We do not have a fixed development budget. Besides following our extensive onboarding programme, you will enter a personal development process that will see us assess your potential together and explore ways to get the most out of your potential.

Required skills

You are analytical, curious, and critical when working with data. You ask follow-up questions, validate assumptions, and enjoy turning complex questions into clear insights.

Next to that you meet the below criteria:

  • 0–3 years of experience in data analysis, or a clearly data-focused educational background.
  • Affinity with programming, preferably Python.
  • SQL knowledge or the motivation to develop this further.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Power BI is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills in Dutch and English.

Hybrid working (partly remote) is common at Nedap. Together with your colleagues, you align your working hours to maintain a healthy work-life balance. We would like to see you on our campus in Groenlo 2 to 3 days per week.
