Paediatric Surgeon

We are looking for an experienced, certified paediatric surgeon with experience in paediatric hepatobiliary surgery. Established experience with research is mandatory. A demonstrated affinity with education and surgical training is recommended. We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague who is fluent in Dutch or can be certified in a short period of time. We are seeking a team player who wants to work together to strengthen the future of paediatric surgery in Groningen.

Work Environment UMC Groningen and the Beatrix Children's Hospital UMC Groningen

The Beatrix Children's Hospital is an academic children's hospital with a large, modern paediatric intensive care unit (20 beds) and a recently renovated neonatology department (22 beds).

Paediatric Surgery

Within paediatric surgery, we are the only hepatopancreatobiliary centre, including liver and intestinal transplants, for children in the Netherlands. We have a well-established anorectal function centre where the pelvic floor and anal canal can be functionally mapped. Our main areas of service include neonatal, colorectal, hepatopancreatobiliary and thoracic wall surgery, addressing both congenital and acquired abnormalities. We also maintain excellent multidisciplinary collaboration within UMCG, nationally and internationally through centres of expertise in rare diseases.

Currently, we work with 7 paediatric surgeons and have close cooperation with paediatricians, neonatologists, paediatric ICUs, and adult surgeons. We are part of the Department of Surgery, which includes 55 full-time staff members.

Due to the departure of one of our colleagues, we are looking for an experienced new staff member.
