Management Intern – February 2027

Park Plaza Utrecht offers a modern and stylish stay in the heart of the city, ideally located near Utrecht Central Station and within easy reach of the historic city centre, making it perfect for both business and leisure guests.

As a Management Intern, you will be the right hand of the General Manager, supporting the leadership of the hotel and ensuring a smooth and high-quality operation across all departments. You will assist in daily management activities, contribute to strategic and operational projects, and gain exposure across the full hotel operation. This role provides a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills while contributing to guest satisfaction, operational excellence, and team engagement across the cluster.

The internship starts in February 2027 and offers a full-time learning experience for 5–12 months, aligned with your study requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support the General Manager in daily operations and strategic activities across departments
  • Assist in preparing management meetings, coordinating team sessions, and supporting internal communication
  • Provide operational support across departments such as Front Office, Food & Beverage, and Meetings & Events
  • Contribute to improving the guest journey and arrival experience through analysis and implementation of ideas
  • Support quality control checks and ensure brand standards are consistently met
  • Assist with projects related to commercial activities, events, and hotel performance
  • Engage with guests and colleagues, providing a professional and personalised experience
  • Support sales activities including show-rounds, upselling, and promoting hotel outlets
  • Demonstrate leadership by example, supporting department heads with administrative and operational tasks
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and contribute ideas to improve hotel performance and guest satisfaction

Essential Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a hospitality, hotel management, or related study programme
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken)
  • Previous experience in hospitality or customer service
  • Proactive, organised, and eager to learn in a dynamic environment
  • Interest in leadership, hotel operations, and cross-departmental collaboration
  • Confident in interacting with guests and internal stakeholders
  • Available for an internship of 5–12 months
  • Eligible to complete an internship in the Netherlands

Preferred Requirements

  • Interest in hotel management and leadership development
  • Familiarity with hotel operations or systems (PMS) is a plus
  • Dutch or any additional language skills is an advantage
  • Strong sense of ownership and willingness to take initiative

Internship allowance of €750 gross per month (full-time), which is above the Horeca CAO BOL guidelines.
