You will join a brand-new team called Cyber Insighters, a dynamic, diverse, and international group made up of a Product Owner, Data-Driven Cyber Security Analysts, Data Analysts, and Developers. Based in Amstelveen, the team works collaboratively in English and represents a variety of countries and cultures.

Our ambition is simple yet powerful: “Think big, but start small!” By combining forward-thinking ideas with data-driven insights, we aim to deliver impactful solutions that elevate ABN AMRO’s cyber resilience.

Your profile

Key responsibilities

  • Design and refine advanced quantitative threat-modelling algorithms for the Cyber Resilience Index (CRI) to identify and address vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and enhance the Security Metrics Framework (SMF) by integrating new data sources and improving data quality.
  • Generate statistical estimates for challenging security metrics and turn them into clear, data-driven decision-making tools.
  • Analyse CRI and SMF outputs continuously to recommend and monitor high-ROI security strategies.
  • Lead engaging demos and hands-on workshops to educate teams on the value of evidence-based security solutions.
  • Work closely with the data engineering team to implement models into production pipelines and ensure quality through code and data model reviews.

Must-have expertise

  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong focus on data science.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, GIAC/SANS (for example GDSA, GICSP), or similar are highly valued.
  • Deep familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, D3FEND, CAPEC, CVE/CVSS, NIST, CIS Benchmarks, and Microsoft Security Benchmark.
  • Understanding of modern EDR/XDR suites, evaluation of control efficacy and telemetry coverage, Microsoft Defender stack, Azure services, and network security fundamentals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience with PowerBI, Databricks, and Detection Engineering tools.
  • Comfort with statistical methods, confidence intervals, and Monte-Carlo and Bayesian approaches.
  • Python (data/ML stack), SQL, and KQL, with the ability to work with large and dynamic data sets.
  • Knowledge of ArchiMate.
