Bij ASICS krijg je de kans om deel uit te maken van een organisatie waar beweging centraal staat en waar jouw bijdrage zichtbaar impact maakt.
Your role in our shared journey
Located at our EMEA headquarters in Hoofddorp, near Amsterdam, you will serve as the dedicated HR Advisor for two distinct populations: our HQ-based teams and district managers across our retail estate in the Netherlands and Belgium. From employee relations and illness case management to retail recruitment and manager coaching, you will manage a broad and varied caseload that spans two countries, two legislative frameworks, and the full spectrum of generalist HR.
Few HR Advisor roles offer this breadth of real-world exposure in a single position. You will be genuinely embedded in the retail population, visiting stores, building trust with managers on the ground, and translating HR policy into practical guidance that operational leaders can actually use. At the same time, you will support our HQ commercial population, giving you the full picture of how a growing global brand manages its people. This is a role for an HR professional who values autonomy, thrives on variety, and wants to make a visible difference.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Act as the primary HR contact for retail store managers across the Netherlands and Belgium: visiting stores regularly, building trusted relationships, and providing pragmatic HR advice suited to fast-paced, high-volume retail environments.
- Coach and advise HQ and retail managers on people management, difficult conversations, conflict resolution, and HR policy, building their capability to handle people challenges confidently and compliantly.
- Partner with HR COEs (Operations, Payroll, L&D, TA, Total Rewards) and regional HR teams to deliver seamless, consistent HR support across both populations.
- Manage the full employee relations caseload; grievances, disciplinaries, performance management, and terminations, ensuring consistent compliance with Dutch and Belgian labour legislation and producing legally sound documentation throughout.
- Manage sickness absence cases in line with Wet Verbetering Poortwachter obligations, maintaining regular contact with employees and guiding managers through compliant, sustainable return-to-work processes.
- Interpret and apply HR and salary policies within both HQ and retail store contexts, providing training and guidance to managers on legal requirements and internal standards.
- Analyse HR metrics including turnover, absenteeism, and engagement data in collaboration with HRIS, identifying patterns, flagging systemic issues proactively, and presenting findings in a way that drives management action.
You have the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 4–6 years of HR generalist experience, with demonstrable experience supporting retail, operational, or other front-line employee populations (required).
- Fluency in both Dutch and English (written and verbal), required for daily communication with employees, managers, and external parties in both languages.
- Hands-on experience independently managing complex ER cases including grievances, disciplinaries, performance management and terminations.
- Solid working knowledge of Dutch labour law; practical experience managing illness cases in compliance with Wet Verbetering Poortwachter and Arbo obligations.
- Confident coaching and advising managers on HR and people management matters independently, without requiring escalation for standard complex cases.
- Structured and prepared approach to workload management, manages own caseload with discipline, comes to meetings with a clear agenda, and follows through without needing to be chased.
- Resilient and adaptable; able to manage a varied, unpredictable caseload across two countries and two populations without losing quality or attention to detail.
- Trusted and credible at all levels; equally comfortable advising a store manager on a disciplinary and presenting HR metrics to a Head of Department.
- Right to work in the Netherlands (required).
- Familiarity with Belgian labour law and employment practices is a plus.
- Experience in a multi-site or multi-country HR advisory role is a plus.
- Experience with HR information systems (Workday, SuccessFactors, or similar) is a plus.
