What is Welcome app?

Welcome app makes building a new life in a foreign country easier by making relevant information, activities, services, and local organizations accessible in one place. We currently work for six municipalities: Almere, Den Bosch, Dordrecht, Leiden, Oegstgeest, and Venlo. Our ambition is to grow to 65 Dutch municipalities in the next three years. We also have international ambitions.

What will you do?

As a Marketing & Communication intern, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to communicate with our various target groups and strengthen our brand position. Your role includes creating compelling content, managing social media channels, and contributing to strategic marketing initiatives. From creating relevant posts to collaborating on campaigns, you will have the opportunity to apply your creativity and communication skills in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Social media management: brainstorming, creating, and scheduling posts in line with our content calendar, ensuring consistency with our branding, and analyzing social media performance for continuous improvement.
  • Content creation and optimization: creating content for all our target groups (newcomers, locals, organizations, and municipalities), and working on the graphic design of newsletters, sales and pitch decks, marketing campaigns, flyers, posters, and other promotional materials using Canva.
  • Executing existing marketing plans and ad-hoc communication, including occasionally accompanying Project Coordinators on visits to municipalities to gather user experiences and get a feel for what we do.
  • Strengthening collaboration between business development and marketing, with a focus on expanding the reach of the Welcome app to new municipalities through lead generation, strategic campaigns, and new marketing opportunities such as sharing case studies.
  • Maintaining the website using WordPress.
  • Contributing to a cohesive visual and verbal identity, with special attention to intercultural communication.

Who are we looking for?

You are a creative person with an eye for detail, and you enjoy creating various types of content. You also know a lot about marketing and how to write strong texts. You take the lead and act proactively. Additionally, you speak both Dutch and English at at least B2 level. A migration background is a plus.

What do we offer?

  • An internship from July to September, with the exact period and start date negotiable, and possible extension.
  • A varied part-time role of 24–36 hours per week.
  • The opportunity to contribute to and build a growing tech start-up with a social goal and make a meaningful impact on newcomers.
  • An internship allowance.
  • A flexible schedule and the possibility to work hybrid.
  • The chance to develop various skills and build a unique network.
  • Free lunch at our centrally located office in Amsterdam.

Welcome app brengt alle informatie, kansen en ondersteuning voor nieuwkomers samen in één app, in hun eigen taal. Zo kunnen zij meedoen vanaf dag 1, zonder te hoeven wachten.
