Are you a student, passionate about sustainability, and looking for an experience in an international environment?

HEINEKEN is committed to becoming net zero carbon by 2030 (scope 1 & 2) and to reducing its water usage significantly. To achieve this ambition, the company runs multiple projects and wants to measure their impact. Accurate sustainability reporting is therefore essential. As part of this internship, you will support sustainability reporting, coordinate the overall process, provide supporting materials, manage different stakeholders, and review data accuracy and performance.

The internship is based in Schiphol and available from 1 September for a minimum duration of 6 months.

Your Responsibilities

In this internship, you will:

  • Support HEINEKEN operating companies worldwide with sustainability water and wastewater reporting
  • Analyse reporting data, highlight issues, and provide feedback to reporting sites
  • Update documentation and guidance on reporting
  • Create training materials for production sites
  • Support the development and automation of reports and dashboards to track water and wastewater trends and identify improvement opportunities

The Unique You!

We believe that everyone has unique talents, and we are therefore looking for you.

  • You are currently studying for a master’s or bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, biotechnology, chemical or environmental engineering, or a similar area
  • You have a passion for sustainability and want to make an impact on a global scale
  • You have basic knowledge of water and wastewater treatment systems
  • You have strong data analytics skills. PowerBI knowledge is appreciated

The Department

The Sustainable Production department, part of Global Production, Supply Chain, consists of a multidisciplinary team working on different sustainability topics within operations, such as water and energy usage, decarbonization, wastewater management and reporting. The team is made up of professionals from different countries, with different expertise and academic backgrounds, all with one goal: to make operations more sustainable.

The terms of employment

  • Your starting date is 1 September 2026
  • The internship is full-time, with a duration of 6 months
  • It is a practice-oriented internship
  • You will be based in Amsterdam
  • During your internship, you have the flexibility to work in a hybrid setup
  • You will receive an internship fee of €650 gross per month based on 40 hours per week
  • You will enjoy 2 vacation days per month based on full-time employment
  • If you do not have a student OV product, your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed

Conditions of HEINEKEN

  • You are enrolled at an educational institution for the entire duration of your internship and can provide proof of enrollment for the current academic year during onboarding.
  • In the case of non-EU nationality, you must be registered as an intern with a Dutch educational institution.
  • In case of EU nationality, you may also be registered as an intern at educational institutions outside the EU.
  • You reside in the Netherlands for the entire duration of your internship. Please note that HEINEKEN does not provide housing.
  • You are in possession of a valid citizen service number (BSN).
