What you will be doing

You will collaborate closely with partners, leveraging their vast international networks and expertise, which will provide you with exceptional exposure to a diverse range of clients and opportunities.

Your role in the team will be vital, leading projects to long-term success while also driving business development. You will work on diverse projects, ranging from customer centric format strategies and category management to supply chain optimization and performance optimization. This diversity allows you to continually apply and develop your skills across different areas of expertise. Additionally, you will help shape growth by identifying new opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and expanding the client base. You will have the chance to collaborate directly with senior management, providing you with a unique opportunity to cultivate a robust professional network, ranging from executives, entrepreneurs and experts, within the retail and FMCG industry.

As a Senior Consultant / Project Manager at Roland Berger you will:

  • Take the lead for modules in larger projects, and complete project management of smaller projects, typically leading three to five consultants.
  • Have direct client contact and lead presentations during client meetings.
  • Coach and develop the consultants in your project teams.
  • Work closely with industry experts at Roland Berger.
  • Contribute to Roland Berger’s knowledge development by capturing insights and drawing lessons from client work.
  • Participate in office-wide projects, such as in-depth studies on current topics, that further develop Roland Berger or its thinking in a specific area or sector.
  • Take an active role in business development efforts.

Our requirements

  • You have completed an academic university education (i.e. WO).
  • You have between four and seven years of experience in strategy and/or management consulting or in strategic and/or operational roles at a large company or in the public sector. Having prior involvement in retail and FMCG is a requirement.
  • You have technical affinity and commercial insight.
  • You can think analytically and structure arguments clearly.
  • You work with precision.
  • You are open-minded.
  • You have experience managing others and delegating work to more junior team members.
  • You are familiar with or experienced in financial modeling (Excel), visualizing presentations (PowerPoint) and storytelling.
  • You have good oral, written and presentation skills and an excellent command of the English language.
