Highberg is strengthening its team and seeking a Cloud Architect to support clients in their transformation as they increasingly adopt modern cloud technologies and services, either leveraging them or transitioning from their own data centers. Highberg is expanding and looking for ambitious individuals who want to grow with the company.

About the role

Cloud is rapidly gaining ground. From IaaS to PaaS to SaaS, and even ‘good old’ BPO is making a strong comeback. Our clients are increasingly adopting modern cloud technologies and services, either leveraging them or transitioning from their own data centers. To support our clients in their transformation, we are strengthening our team and seeking a Cloud Architect.

Your main tasks at #Highberg

As a Cloud Architect, you operate at the intersection of continuously evolving business operations and IT infrastructure, cloud applications, procurement of cloud services, and office automation. You serve as a dialogue partner for executives, CIOs, and other leaders, assisting them in achieving their goals with concrete advice. Naturally, you excel at articulating these recommendations effectively to your clients. You provide independent advice, free from product and vendor biases.

You achieve this by applying your advanced knowledge of virtualization, cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS, and integration. You contribute to the development of IT architectures by translating visions into principles that guide your designs. You frequently collaborate with ICT managers, program/project managers, IT purchasers, and subject matter experts. The projects you undertake at Highberg are prestigious IT initiatives with significant societal impact.

Who you are

  • Junior/Medior: You have an interest in mastering adjacent architecture domains (business, application, enterprise) to become a broad discussion partner.
  • Senior: You are familiar with technologies such as Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, Software Defined Data Center/Network, virtualization, automation, and orchestration.
  • Senior: You have knowledge of key cloud concepts such as on-premises, cloud, and hybrid architectures. Additionally, as an advisor, you have experience translating business needs into cloud services, for example a digital workplace with Office 365.

What we are asking

  • Junior: A completed HBO (Bachelor’s) or WO (Master’s) degree in IT.
  • Junior: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch.
  • Medior: Knowledge of and experience with working with cloud solutions (SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS) and ICT infrastructure (digital workplace, network, and data center).
  • Senior: Experience in roles such as cloud architect/advisor, technical architect, technical project manager on ICT projects, or solution architect on projects with an ambition to also advise at a higher abstraction level and grow in this capacity.
  • Senior: Experience in independently acquiring advisory assignments.

What we are offering

  • A competitive salary and excellent benefits including performance pay, provisions for mobility, pension and leave.
  • Sincere attention to personal development including coaching by colleagues, access to a wide range of education and training, and a personal development plan with matching investments.
  • A place within a challenging and growing organization where taking personal responsibility is valued, and where you have the autonomy and freedom to perform your work flexibly with short lines of communication with colleagues.
  • A pleasant working environment with an easily accessible office, focus on performance as a team rather than on the individual, and numerous social activities such as get-togethers, sports activities and team meetings.
