Allseas is seeking an Automation Engineer to join the Automation Team, part of the Systems Department in Delft, the Netherlands. In this role, you will design and develop control systems and PLC programming, helping to create new engineering solutions and processes that advance the capabilities, performance, and efficiency of the company’s vessels and equipment.

Your role

Part of a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team, you design, develop, and implement control systems using an in-house developed framework. You develop PLC software for new engineering solutions and processes that advance the capabilities, performance, and efficiency of record-breaking vessels and equipment.

As Automation Software Engineer, you:

  • Make a functional design for the automation of systems;
  • Prepare analyses, design calculations, parameters, and sketches for new systems;
  • Program PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems;
  • Contribute to the development of framework tooling;
  • Evaluate the capabilities of existing systems and tools based on current demands;
  • Write and execute test plans for system implementation and commissioning of new equipment;
  • Provide engineering support to end users as needed.

What we expect from you

You have a hands-on approach and are interested in systems as a whole, enabling you to quickly grasp the overall picture. You have experience with multidisciplinary systems and have either experience with PLC programming or other programming experience and are eager to learn PLC programming. You possess excellent English skills and are excited by the opportunity to work on assignments offshore and abroad, in consultation.

Ideally you have:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a related discipline;
  • A minimum of three years of working experience with multidisciplinary systems, ideally with practical experience;
  • Experience with either PLC programming, preferably SCL or ST, or with C/C++, Python, or similar;
  • Experience with Git or another version control system.
