We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join the team at HEINEKEN in a role focused on competitive insights and cost optimization.

Your assignment

The intern will be responsible for analysing external benchmark data to help drive strategic decisions and provide insights into industry trends. The intern will also support the team on delivering cost optimisation workshops across various countries. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in strategic planning, reporting, data analysis, cost benchmarking and more.

You will have significant internal exposure to senior stakeholders and need to be committed to deliver.

In this role you will:

  • Gather and compile data from various external benchmark sources.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by performing cleaning and validation processes.
  • Analyze benchmark data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Compare external data against internal performance metrics.
  • Utilize statistical methods and tools to interpret data sets.
  • Create detailed reports and presentations to summarize findings.
  • Maintain automated dashboards and visualization tools to communicate insights effectively.
  • Assist in preparing executive summaries and strategic recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends externally with peer companies.

Your working environment

You will report to the Global Program Lead- Design to Sustainable Value. You will work closely with the Packaging and Raw Materials Team. The team consists of a very ambitious, diverse, international group of sourcing professionals. The role is cross functional, interacting closely with Commerce, Finance, Supply Chain, Innovation and Transformation teams.

  • Your starting date is 1 September 2026.
  • The duration of the internship is 6 months.
  • It is a practice-oriented internship.
  • You will be based in Amsterdam.
  • During your internship, you have the flexibility to work in a hybrid setup.
  • If you do not have a student OV product, your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed.

Your profile

For this role we are looking for someone with the below qualifications:

  • University education in business, financial, logistics, commercial, economical, sustainability or procurement discipline.
  • Strong interest or experience in Procurement, Finance, Sustainability and/or supply chain.
  • Fluent English language skills, verbal and written.
  • Functional competencies: Analysis & Insight, Sourcing, Data Management.

Also the ideal candidate has:

  • A result-driven and proactive mentality.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Good communication and presenting skills, with the ability to explain complex topics visually in a clear and simple manner.

Conditions of HEINEKEN

You are enrolled at an educational institution for the entire duration of your internship and can provide proof of enrollment for the current academic year during your onboarding.

  • In the case of non-EU nationality, you must be registered as an intern with a Dutch educational institution.
  • In case of EU nationality, you may also be registered as an intern at educational institutions outside the EU.
  • You reside in the Netherlands for the entire duration of your internship. Please note that HEINEKEN does not provide housing.
  • You are in possession of a valid citizen service number (BSN).
