Analytics Engineer (L5) - Localization

Join Netflix's Localization Data Science and Engineering team as an Analytics Engineer (L5) based in Amsterdam. The team is focused on removing language barriers and providing a strong experience to members regardless of their language preferences. It is responsible for the translation and cultural adaptation of member interactions, including localized user interfaces, subtitles, and dubbing of Netflix originals.

In this role, you will design and develop analytics tools and systems to create more member value through localization expansion and quality improvements. You will partner with a cross-functional team of engineers, scientists, product managers, and domain experts to shape localization strategy and deliver impact.

Responsibilities

• Act as a strategic partner for stakeholders and cross-functional collaborators to identify business opportunities and enhance business strategies with automated data solutions.
• Drive the direction and execution of your work, spanning from developing instrumentation and telemetry frameworks for algorithms to defining key metrics and leveraging insights to drive strategy.
• Partner closely with other engineers, data engineers, and scientists to improve foundational data models and accelerate productization of data insights.
• Share your innovation and collaborate with the broader community to strengthen analytics enablement.

About you

• Proven track record of designing and developing scalable analytic tools and systems.
• High proficiency in standard tech stack such as Python, SQL, and Spark, and common data visualization tools such as Streamlit and Tableau.
• Familiarity with fundamentals of modular design and experience coordinating with engineering and data engineering teams.
• 5 or more years of relevant experience building data products powered by big data.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills coupled with strong business acumen.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity; able to take ownership and make informed decisions with a high degree of autonomy.
