About the internship programme

Move beyond compiling data and help tell the story behind the numbers. This internship offers the opportunity to learn about ways of working at Booking.com, apply the theory learnt from the books into real life work, strengthen analytical skills that drive business insights to drive actions and decision making, as well as learning and improving key skill sets that are crucial for Finance professionals.

A great opportunity to understand financial accounting, tax, financial analysis, business control and financial forecasting of a market-leader in the international travel space. You will also be part of and work on specific projects and support the daily operations of the different teams in the Finance organization.

We are currently looking for several Finance Interns to be part of the dynamic and fast-paced Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Accounting Operations (e.g. Corporate Accounting, Statutory Accounting, Tax Accounting teams) and Order to Cash team. In this role you will build a great understanding of Finance.

As an Accounting Intern you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with day-to-day accounting operations, including preparing and analysing journal entries, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, and financial record maintenance.
  • Supporting the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Collaborating with various finance teams (Corporate accounting, Tax accounting, Financial reporting) in order to analyze financial data and provide insights for process improvements.
  • Conducting ad-hoc analysis and contributing to projects related to account reconciliations, efficiency improvements, and financial reporting enhancements.
  • Part of accounting transformation projects such as process improvements and automation (e.g. develop AI tools that perform an assessment of the risk and control environment for new product launches and support project delivery, implementing Gen AI workflows to daily activities uplifting and automating processes).

As an Order to Cash (OTC) Intern you will be responsible for:

  • Lean and AI Sprints: Work on shadowing Finance teams to identify bottlenecks, providing basic Lean coaching, and developing quick-win AI automations.
  • Training and Ops Support: Work on the administration and logistics of Lean/AI workshops, providing ad-hoc technical support to participants.
  • Strategic Research: Work on researching big challenges in Finance to identify how AI trends can solve specific pain points.
  • Proof of Concept Development: Work on building a hands-on proof of concept to prototype and test a functional AI solution for the departments.

As a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Intern you will be responsible for:

  • Assist with business planning, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Support with the creation of scalable and insightful reporting of key financial metrics.
  • Work with accounting and business teams on month-end close to accurately report results including explanatory comments.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis, scenarios and benchmarking as needed and contribute to new business, expansion, cost control projects and process improvement as business requires.
  • Contributing to FP&A transformation projects such as process and reporting improvements.
  • For students with a strong foundation or interest in technical skills, some intern positions will focus on co-creating digital reports, financial forecasting tools (such as Anaplan) and predictive forecasting machine learning models.

Bring your sense of adventure and the following:

  • Enrolled in a Masters or Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or other related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel/Google Sheet, PowerPoint/Google Slide.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A critical mindset and a strong desire to aid in data-driven decision making.
  • Affinity with technology, in particular AI tooling, is highly preferred.
  • Proactive attitude: a team player and self-starter who also has the ability to work independently.
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and in a multicultural environment.

The following are a plus:

  • Foundational knowledge of Python, SQL, Snowflake, statistical modelling, data mining.
  • Some experience with financial modeling, accounting and data/process automation.

We are open to students who are in their 2nd, 3rd, or final year of study to apply for this internship opportunity. For students in their final year of study, we also support their graduation thesis during the internship, with alignments prior to the start of the internship.

In order to be eligible for this programme you need to:

  • Be enrolled in a Dutch University in a Bachelor or a Master for the entire length of the internship.
  • Be able to commit to attending our in-person final interview day (Assessment Centre) on June 26th, 2026 in our Amsterdam HQ.
  • Be available for a minimum of 32 to 40 hours per week for a paid internship from September 1st 2026 until January/February 2027 (5 to 6 months).
  • Be able to commute to our office in Amsterdam at least twice a week throughout the internship.
