Shape how microbiome science becomes trusted, real-world health impact. In this role, you will turn cutting-edge gut health research into clear, credible stories that accelerate adoption across teams and strengthen scientific visibility externally. If you enjoy bridging science, data and business, this is a high-impact opportunity to help build Danone’s long-term leadership in microbiome and biotics.

The OneBiome programme is a strategic Research and Innovation capability focused on advancing microbiome and gut health science, from discovery through validation and translation into differentiated products and services.

As the Microbiome Science & Scientific Communications Lead, you will own the translation of complex scientific outputs into compelling narratives for multiple audiences, ranging from scientific peers to business leaders. You will ensure our communication is accurate, consistent with the evidence, and aligned with external standards, while increasing internal understanding and external visibility of OneBiome capabilities.

This role sits within Medical and Nutritional Science and works globally, with strong collaboration across Utrecht, Paris-Saclay and Singapore.

About the job

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate microbiome science into decisions and action by turning complex findings into clear, evidence-based narratives that teams can confidently use across innovation, strategy and communication.
  • Build reusable scientific storylines for gut health and biotics that remain consistent across materials, channels and stakeholders, from internal leadership updates to external scientific engagement.
  • Lead scientific communications and visibility by shaping key messages, presentation materials and publication-ready content, and by supporting conference presence and expert interactions.
  • Strengthen cross-functional adoption by partnering with data, regulatory, legal, intellectual property, marketing and corporate communications to align on what we can say, how we say it, and why it matters.
  • Grow OneBiome’s ecosystem credibility through thoughtful engagement with external experts and academic networks, supporting Danone’s position in the microbiome landscape.

About you

You will join Danone’s Medical and Nutritional Science community, working at the intersection of Research and Innovation, data and analytics, and business teams. You will collaborate closely with partners in science, regulatory, legal and intellectual property to ensure our narratives stay robust and compliant, while also enabling marketing and leadership teams to communicate with confidence.

To succeed in this role, you bring:

  • PhD (or equivalent advanced degree) in microbiology, microbiome science, nutrition, life sciences, or a closely related field.
  • Strong experience in scientific research and data-driven projects, ideally involving complex biological datasets.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate science into clear, accurate and persuasive messages for different audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with strong storytelling capability grounded in scientific rigour.
  • Confidence working in complex, cross-functional, international environments, with a pragmatic and collaborative approach.
