Join the CTO Finance team as a Business Controller focused on Retail Banking & Technology (RBT), supporting the Global CTO organization in making robust business decisions through analysis and advice. The CTO organization is central to delivering ING’s strategy to build a leading digital bank, and with approximately 15% of ING’s cost base in Tech and Operations, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

The CTO Finance team is a small department, offering exposure to senior CTO managers and a strong focus on working smarter to maximize business impact through effective advisory.

The opportunity

This role sits within CTO Finance and involves significant exposure to ING CIOs and country stakeholders, as RBT delivers services across ING Bank, including One Pam, Shared Datalake, and the Pega platform.

The team values finance business partnering that combines financial and non-financial data with qualitative insight to tell the true story behind the numbers. It looks for individuals with integrity, personal accountability, teamwork, commitment to excellence, and proactive thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Sparring partner for senior management in strategic and tactical decision making
  • Provide reports and analysis in a timely manner to support management decisions
  • Design and delivery of COO Finance and CTO Finance (non-)financials through Quarterly Performance Reviews, bi-annual Strategic Dialogues, Dynamic Planning, and Monthly Analysis
  • Advise on all matters concerning operational efficiency, cost modelling, allocation, financial planning and control
  • Follow cost trends and adjust Rolling Forecast periodically
  • Perform run-rate analysis, advise on cost efficiency opportunities and prepare business cases for Change programs
  • Reporting and analysis (vs. Plan) of Actual spend using standard dashboards and other tools
  • Full control of costs (P&L) and FTEs, including the review & approval of requisitions, cost charging and analytical review
  • Maintain effective management of MA data-sources and monitor implementation of org. structure changes (i.e. Info Memos, RFAs)
  • Strong collaboration with finance colleagues, and non-finance stakeholders to ensure greater transparency, consistency, and insight

Furthermore, you have

  • Current residency in the Netherlands
  • University (Bachelor's/Master's) degree
  • 5+ years of professional working experience in a relevant position such as Finance Business Partner, Business Controller, or similar
  • Knowledge of banking operations and operational excellence
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with all levels of management
  • Organizational sensitivity and effective conflict management skills
  • A proactive and curious mindset suited to a dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical skills
