ING’s Equity Capital Markets team currently has a vacant internship position for a student currently enrolled in a European university. The internship has a duration of 4 to 6 months (exact period to be agreed upon) and is expected to start in February 2025.

ING Equity Capital Markets

Equity Capital Markets (ECM) is part of the Corporate Finance department and advises companies on raising equity on international stock markets. ECM covers many different products including Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), follow-on equity issues and secondary offerings (rights issues or accelerated bookbuild offerings (ABBs)), share buybacks, preference share issuances and equity-linked transactions (convertible bonds). Together with the equities dealing room, ECM originates, structures and markets equity and equity-linked transactions to institutional investors (a.o. pension funds, insurance companies, asset managers, hedge funds) and Benelux retail investors. Additionally, we closely work with ING's specialist Issuer Services team to coordinate listing processes on Euronext.

What can we offer?

As an ECM intern you will be working in a dynamic environment with a young, enthusiastic, and highly motivated team on challenging projects for high-profile clients primarily listed in Europe. You will support the team in originating, structuring and executing ECM transactions.

Key personal development opportunities:

  • Transaction-driven, dynamic and energetic environment
  • Steep learning curve
  • Becoming familiar with key databases (Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Factset, etc.)
  • Focus on both hard skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and soft skills
  • Exposure within the ING organisation through cross-team collaboration

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the overall ECM team in Amsterdam
  • Track the markets, prepare presentations, and conduct industry, sector and company research
  • Provide general origination support during the creation of client pitches
  • Assist in the execution of mandated transactions
  • Keep databases up to date
  • Support deal administration for global ECM deals

Equity Capital Markets transactions are complex and demanding, therefore joining our team will give you a head start in your future career.

Who are we looking for?

Since you will immediately operate as a member of the ECM team, we expect:

  • Master or final-year Bachelor student with a strong academic track record and proven interest in capital markets
  • Preferably studying Finance, Economics, Econometrics, Business Administration or STEM
  • High energy level
