As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a talented Senior Cyber Security and Security Monitoring Engineer to join our high-tech engineering team in Noordwijk at ALTEN Nederland.
As a Senior Cyber Security and Security Monitoring Engineer, your main tasks will include:
- Ensure that mission-level cyber requirements are fully integrated into the system baseline and oversee their maintenance.
- Provide expertise on all aspects of security monitoring, secure development lifecycles, and disaster recovery planning.
- Review Space and Ground segment industry designs.
- Assess system and segment cyber vulnerabilities, and conduct regular penetration tests and security audits.
- Implement mission-level cyber requirements into the system baseline.
- Maintain the traceability and applicability of existing cyber requirements, complementing, enhancing, or modifying these for next-generation systems to address new threats and technology evolution.
- Provide traceability and compliance to regulatory cyber requirements applicable to the program from the System/Segment documentation baseline.
- Define and maintain the COTS Cyber Vulnerability Database for all project assets.
- Assess and report cyber status at both the system and segment levels.
- Maintain system and segment security profiles alongside a comprehensive system disaster recovery plan.
- Review and assess system/segment defects (NCR) and deviations (RFx).
- Act as the Cyber Board secretary: preparing agendas, minuting the board, tracking actions, monitoring activity, and liaising with relevant stakeholders for synchronization.
Your profile
- This role requires Dutch security clearance due to work in the defence sector. Please note that only candidates who meet government eligibility requirements for this screening can be considered.
- Senior-level professional with a completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant technical field.
- Strong skills in System Engineering, Cyber Security, SOC, and vulnerability assessment.
- Technical comprehension of wide and complex systems.
- Solid, hands-on experience in Cybersecurity, including Penetration Testing and Security Auditing.
- Extensive experience with Cybersecurity standards (NIST Framework, ISO 27k, CIS, Mitr@ttack, NIS2, EU regulation 488, etc.).
- Proven experience with secure development lifecycles.
- Previous experience in the space or industrial sectors is highly preferred.
- Required Certifications: Certified SAFe® Practitioner and CISSP (or equivalent).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive, result-driven, and flexible mindset.
- Team player with strong communication skills.
- Fluency in English
